Last time I checked being better than the rest is what makes someone No.1. there is no benchmark that says you have to be No.1 by a certain margin. Sure Andon mein Kaana raja is a good saying because blind can't see,Kaana can so massive advantage kaana.

This is what makes me sad..... Indian fans have so low standards..... This team will whitewash WI in two months again we will be gloating about our no1 ranking.......

These rockstars are the highest paid cricketers around, they have more fan following than their counterparts in other countries. Still we can't win in Aus, SA (never won) and now , can't even finish off this mediocre English team (Lost a series to SL at home, drew qith Pakistan, lost a match to WI of all people).............

So fricking sad

Well I don't know why no. 1 has to be an India vs Pakistan thing. Pakistan is also one of the top sides in the world, and always has a great bowling line up, so if they have done well in England that's not a surprise.

As far as no.1 is concerned, no team in the world today is good enough to win outside their home, look what happened to England in Australia in last Ashes, Australia in Srilanka in 2016, South Africa in Srilanka recently.

India is competitive playing away, even if they just win a match and not the series, and hardly drop a game at home. May be that's they are no. 1

If the criteria to be no.1 is to win at home and away, than no team deserves to be no. 1 but there is a system in place, so someone will be no. 1 and someone will no. 2 and if any team starts doing better and wins at home and away, than they will be the no. 1 team, as simple as that.

India is no.1 that is not the point, every other team is weak hence we are no.1..... but when you have a golden chance to WIN YOUR FIRST SERIES EVER in SA and lose it and then again in England (who are easily beatable at home) you cant close games in Edgbaston adn again now here at Southampton

Eng will add another 30 at least..it will be a 270 target.Ind will be all out 150.

I think it's possible the target is about 270, and on this wicket that will take some getting.  I don't think India will collapse, but it might just be out of reach.  If they get it

That's where genes com into play actually. I'm not saying that I'm fat, I've always been active just that for some people getting a toned body is very difficult. If you've watched some Shaolin monk warriors, they may look overweight/obese on the outside but their fitness/flexibility and fighting skills can put fear of god even in the minds of Navy Seals guys, and they eat healthy too!

You couldn't be more wrong man.

Genes don't decide how a calorific deficit works.

If your food intake is higher than what you burn in a day you gain weight and vice versa.

Genes and metabolism don't work the way you are describing.

A fat person can still be be very active and powerful, because they can still have considerable amount of muscle underneath that fat.

And Shaolin monks are what they because of the strict regimen they follow there is no way around it.

But they have to win overseas as well what’s the point of winning at home getting shot in SENA it’s disappointing.

they win tests yes - they loose more than they win - but they win more than what other teams win overseas and home put together - thats why they are no 1.

every team plays to win, you have to accept skill when you see it. Curran is skilled. cant help it he is the reason Eng is not 2-1 now and he is the reason they are competing this test as well.

They are hammered overseas which is why I feel disappointed that this #1 tag looks bad.

dude there are two possibilities.

may be its your diet. what you eat. Genetics has not nothing to do with a person gaining fat .

its not more difficult for some people to get toned body, fat, muscle are same for everyone.

Workout and eat right to get muscle and loose fat, its very simple. There is no genetic pre disposition here.

Tell me what you ususally eat, i could tell you where you might be getting fat from. No judgement, if you want to message me go ahead - i can help.

almost won first test, lost second pathetically, won third , could still win fourth. you can be disappointed with this sure..its your choice.  no 1 looks good on India since they absolutely smash everyone home and compete hard when away like what we saw in SA and Eng, dont be a wrist slitter.

I agree we have fought well but we never went for the kill that first test match should have been won second one ok we were unlucky to bat in overcast conditions even here we conceded the advantage that is why I am disappointed.

did curran play then honest question - Eng would be surely 3-1 if not for Curran. might still be 2-2 because of Kohli still.

Bhuvi did not play too, else Eng were smashed like they were in India ( 4-0). India is still no 1 team, nothing you can do about it maan. deal with it.  When WI come touring next they will get smashed to smithereens..lolz..loosers.

Man I am not a Pakistani.... I love that India is no.1 .... but there is nothing to be proud of. Being no.1, we should have won ATLEAST 1 SERIES in this round of away tours. Infact, even SL has won in Eng. Pakistan has drawn TWICE.

I am disappointed because WE WASTED A GOLDEN opportunity to win in SA and now here....

And yes, no one is disputing India's no.1 rank. But it is meaningless, after 5-10 years nobody will remember whether we went to England as no.1 or not (like in 2011) but every damn cricket fan will know India sucked overseas..... AS ALWAYS

Again, I'm not talking about fat loss here but toned body. You can be slim but at the same time may not have a toned body.

Yaar I don't want to digress from this thread, but the original poster criticised Ashwin's gut to which I responded that he's doing everything to keep himself fit, it's his genes that may not make him look like an athlete. I'm not saying that working out will not help, it definitely keeps you fit but do not underestimate the power of genetics. I've heard a radio interview by Graeme Swann talking about Clouderson (his best friend), and he says that he has the worst diet of all international cricketers yet is very wiry.

Yes. India is the only team which is failing while travelling. All the other teams r whitewashing the home teams.. specially our 3 padosis.

The 4-0 loss of eng when travelling India should not be considered...or removed from the record...bcoz India had the 'home' advantage...  Or it's nothing when sleep,be,Pakistan lose series on their home grounds...

Yes nobody cares when India beats the SENA teams at home... Still those teams r better than India...as it's home advantage for India... But when India loses to them while traveling it's not home advantage for them.

Different yardsticks for n rest of the countries...
