Yeh train ki patri ke paas Kaun function organize karta hai?  People were sitting on the track and the train ran over them?

Public safety regulations and event management, require awareness and money.  Both are lacking in India.  And given the population density, space is always at a premium.

Terrible tragedy.

Saw the video.

No stampede. People were watching the event sitting on railway tracks. Couldn't hear or see the train coming due to noise from crackers.

Don't see any fault of Railways. People themselves have to take the blame.

Organizers and attendees both.  There's no concept of safety fencing in India.  Its not realistic to expect it either for all train tracks.  But the organizers should have planned things better and warned people.

It has been organised every year. They are saying that they even ask Railways to stop train at that time.Train was running at 100 kmph , clearly Railway too has been at fault

The organizers are are partly at fault ,they didn't cordon off/barricade that track area and neither did the policemen ensure that people were standing away from  that zone . But what about the people standing on the tracks ?

Didnt they know that regular passenger trains pass on that track, how can you stand on railway tracks in such huge numbers and not aware of your own safety?? They can blame the administration as much as they want but self safety is the best safety

This "kuch nhi hoga yaar" attitude is an epidemic in this country it takes half of the lives we lose every year.

Government spends so much on traffic rules vigilance, still people don't follow them properly and get themselves killed.

A lot of our populace takes pride in breaking rules, they get special masculine thrill in defying safety norms. I feel nothing can be done about that unless something happens which causes major cultural/psyche shift.
