Rightarmfast
He looks decently sharp. The wicket delivery looks about 135ish. He may be average, but for those times, he does look pretty solid. Could have shouldered a lot of responsibility as the 2nd seamer. Link to comment

maniac
Firstly he doesn’t look that bad, just average but everyone can look mediocre on an off day in a random odi match however I think his and most Indian fast bowlers of their day’s complaint was they didn’t get any backing from Kapil Dev or neither did he take them under his wing and taught them. Even Srinath said he didn’t get any advice from Kapil and probably got backing from the team management of that time when Kapil’s Star was on the way out. Chakdephatte 1 Link to comment

From the first video, Yograj looked good enough to get more games. Not player is a special players. There have been plenty average looking players with long careers. There was one more bowler Harvinder Singh who should have played more for India. Link to comment
rtmohanlal
looks a decent talent to have been successful by Indian standards. But, to blame Kapil for his failure does not make any sense Link to comment
Real McCoy
Yograj is a mediocre seamer. Saying he is average is giving him complements. He looks more like Robin Singh with his military medium pace and Robin was a good enough no.6 for a while. For a player playing as a specialist seamer, this is below par. Maybe he was par for our 80s team. His son bowls better and has picked up crucial wickets and he is only a part timer not to mention his ODI batting skills which was awesome. With him and Dhoni, we sealed off wins that we usually choked under pressure before their arrival on to the scene especially in tournament finals. Link to comment
maniac
Yograj Singh a not so popular man in Chennai I believe Gollum and Real McCoy 2 Link to comment

I dont find anything special in his bowling....good is a huge word he looks bang avg Speeds looks around 130, neither a lot of movement , not even getting a bit of extra bounce or zip .....i dont find anything in his bowling atleast when someone like kambli cries out u can say he atleast had a special talent . He looks to have a good build and goes wide of crease but thats it 42 minutes ago, Real McCoy said: Yograj is a mediocre seamer. Saying he is average is giving him complements. He is not only mediocre but his complaints are very funny. I'm sure Kapil may have indulged in keeping him away but this one for the right reasons. His bowling is not that dissimilar to Gavaskar's but Sunnyji is a class batsmen and this guy is a specialist bowler Link to comment

You don't need to be a special player to have a career. Not every player who had long career was a special player. Some have less talent and skills but can still make things work and be successful.
