Should Kohli have played this test even if not 100% fit?

Yes kohli faking injury as scared

could have played but bottled it

threads on this site are embarrassing . Mods shouod lock this . Even paks won't say he faking injury . Some of you guys are imbeciles

Not everyone is saying that he is faking injury. Just that he has second guessed his own form and fitness and decided to adopt a safety first approach. He doesn't have to play if he is not 100% fit, but he has played through injuries in the past.

IMO, every injury is different scenario and requires independent evaluation. We should never question a player's injury, especially when the injury is discernible and evidenced.

There are differences in the degree of different injuries.

Here is an excerpt outlining the immediate-opinion of the diagnostic centre that conducted scans on him

" Kohli, who missed much of the opening day’s action, had been taken to Pulse Diagnostic Centre where doctors advised him  15-20 days’ rest.

“He has suffered an injury in his right shoulder. While the bones are intact, there is a ligament tear and he was having acute problems in hand movement. We have advised 15 to 20 days’ rest. We have given our reports. Now, he will consult his panel of doctors and experts on the course of action,” Abhishek Jha, the managing director of the diagnostic centre, had said in the evening. "

Kohli batting and fielded in the 3rd test despite having a ligament tear and that is not easy at all.   In my opinion, he had no chance of playing the 4th test and that fact was not revealed to the media so that the Australians could not plan ahead. Smart thing to do.

If you look at the previous three Test matches Virat Kohli has not really contributed with the bat but as a leader he has shepherded the team together,” Gavaskar told NDTV Sports.

“I think what the team management has to look at is how important is this player to your team, in an all-round sense and not just as a batsman sense.

So if his presence on the field is going to lift your team up, even if he is 50 per cent fit, 60 per cent fit, or 70 per cent fit, it’s his presence in the team that is going to energise the team, then you have got to play him.

“You’ve got to convince him … if the side feels that he is a must for this deciding game then they might want to convince him.”

Look, both Shami and Ashwin have been playing through injuries.

Ashwin has been carrying a sports hernia injury which requires months of rehab. Yet he has been picked for the entire series. Where is the consistency in policy?

If preservation was the order of the day, Kohli shouldn't have taken the field in the 3rd innings in Ranchi.

I understand batting, but he didn't have to take the field. Could've used a sub like in the first innings. It's possible that he may have aggravated his injury in the third innings.
