Good to see Dhoni getting his touch back in time for CT. Let's see if he shows more consistency. But one thing for sure - Dhoni has to come in early and no. 4 position suits him best.

Actually, he needs to make way for youngsters in T20 in the next 5-6 months. There is some raw talent in the wings.T20 is all about sudden impact, not impact.Hopefully, he realizes this and moves out just like he did for Tests.

I'm not worried about T20 - agree he shouldn't play T20Is. I'm more concerned about CT and that in odis he has to play slightly up the order - probably at 4. He needs to get in early to get his eye in and is not going to go starting ball one.

Regardless of how well Dhoni does well in T20s he should retire from T20s.Pant looks exciting and T20 is a young man's game.

With next T20 world Cup in 2020 it's unlikely MSD will be around till then either.Pant should definitely replace in the T20 team.

As for ODIs ,Dhoni is still needed moreso for Champions trophy.Apart from Kohli MSD is the only one that can be trusted to shepeard a chase under pressure. Also can setup with a big hundreds with batting first.Yes Jadhav looks good but still untested outside India.

So MSD is essential for CT.His future after that can then be judged based on his form.

Preferably Pant should be played as Opener alongside Rohit or Dhawan and Dhoni in middle order alongside Jadhav at 5&6.
