India a poor one day team, anything beyond Semis a bonus

Our ODI team has declined in the last 3-4 years. CT 2013 was a blip otherwise we have been really poor in ODIs.

Lost home series to Pakistan badly

Won 3-2 against England at home, Won 3-2 against Aus at home,  Won 2-1 against WI at home - all of these are below avg performances considering our domination at home.

Could not win a single ODI in SA 2013

Could not win a single ODI in NZ 2013

Lost to Bangladesh

Lost to SA at home

Lost 4-1 to Aus which had their C team bowling attack

Barely managed to beat NZ at home

Looking at the squad barring Kohli there is not a single player has a fixed spot in the XI.

This is so different from 2011 WC where 7-8 players selected themselves.

Although with SL and Pak in our group I expect us to go to SFs but beyond that we shouldn't expect much.

Sorry even in Australia were conditions suit us the worst , we reached the Semis .

With an inexperienced team in 2013 ,we won the tournament.

We are a tournament team,Doesnt matter the results in bilateral series .

Anything less than final will be a disappointment .We are good enough (yes this squad is )beat everyone and win the CT.

I meant winning semifinal will be a bonus

Top 4 presumably

Ind SA Eng Aus

Ind vs Eng for final slot, looks beatable.

Ind vs Aus,I think Aus have too much firepower.

Although anything can happen on that day but I'd back England to beat us in England.

They performed quite well in India in ODIs.

They can score 325+ against us in England. Can't say confidently that we can chase this much in England.

I think this is our strongest bowling lineup for ODI team in some time if we look at current form. I do not think Bumrah and Shami have played together before.

I'd say reaching semis is a given with our group. But don't fool yourself, this team is capable of going all the way. Last time as well pessimists here were not even sure of reaching semis and we know what happened.

Difficult but beatable, their bowling doesnt scare me,quite hittable.
