BeautifulGame Posted June 2, 2017 Posted June 2, 2017 True but Kumble is the coach and needs to be respected. If Kohli feelings are hurt and he needs a different coach then he needs to man up. We just dont know the full story. Agree these leaks are doing no-one any good. But ultimately if there is a difference of opinion between Captain and coach, Captain will win it hands down.Coach is nothing more than a sidekick in Indian cricket.
Khota Posted June 2, 2017 Posted June 2, 2017 Leaks need to stop. Right before the game is a disaster and I will hold both responsible for that.

A so so player can also be very good coach for all we know. Agree.. Did not Goa reach Ranji trophy plate semis under Dodda Ganesh ? Not sure about his recent credentials though
Unleashed Posted June 2, 2017 Posted June 2, 2017 Anyone but Sehwag, his comments and twitter stuff might be appreciated by idiots but I can't stand him these days. International cricket is serious business and I hope we appoint someone suitable. Mosher, Rohit S. Ambani and beetle 3

He doesn't want to get involved because kumble is involved here...probably out of respect. Even Sehwag talked to kumble before applying . Edited June 2, 2017 by beetle

beetle Posted June 2, 2017 Posted June 2, 2017 (edited) They should get a foreign coach specially with the big 3 selecting the coach. Selecting a collegue and friend is too much conflict of interest and it gets sticky if things go wrong like this time. Besides, it gives an unfair edge to the coach. The question being asked is why was the issue not taken up earlier before it got so big. Probably it is not easy to complain about the coach to the big three who are his friends and collegues and hold him in high esteem. Edited June 2, 2017 by beetle

Why should they select foreign coach they should select whom think is best for Indian 🏏 or they should not be there if u don't trust them.
Yoda-esque Posted June 2, 2017 Posted June 2, 2017 No matter what the outcome, Kohli's maturity will be under the scanner now. There are reports that Kohli walked away from Kumble when the latter approached Kohli during today's net session.ROFL, if true.

Last time they selected kumble over Rajput and Moody...both with coaching experience. You think kumble who did not even fulfil the 'coaching experience' requirement was not favoured over people who fulfilled the requirements. These players are not professional recruiters. They are the best players we have but they are humans. It is a bit like nepotisn. Ironhide 1

Kohli will have his way now but emerge weaker. He can't do this again for quite sometime. BCCI won't support him unless they gain something from it. The away cricket in coming months will sober him up further. The coach who cosied up with COA will be gone . The skipper will be mellowed down. Bcci will be stronger. That is what they want. Hope it does not impact him as a player.

If you had to go by coaching qualifications anybody would select coach no need for committee. They liked kumble presentation and vision for Indian cricket so they gave him the job.
