Sehwag, Moody apply for Indian cricket team head coach position

• Former India player Virender Sehwag and former Australian player Tom Moody have applied for the position of head coach

• Lalchand Rajput, Doda Ganesh, Richard Pybus have also applied
• Anil Kumble a direct entrant into the process by virtue of being the current coach

Former India player Virender Sehwaghas applied for the position of head coach of the Indian men's cricket team along with former India manager Lalchand Rajput, Doda Ganesh, Tom Moody and Richard Pybus with Anil Kumble a direct entrant into the process by virtue of being the current coach.

The Board of Control for Cricket in India(BCCI) had earlier announced that it will begin the process for new applicants after Kumble's tenure expires following the conclusion of the ICC Champions Trophy. According to reports, the board is apparently miffed with Kumble's demand for a massive hike in central contracts for players and his own salary

I think he will blend well with Indian team. Also having been SRH coach, he understands Indian players a lot.

 

I would take him.

 

But honestly, if the reports are fake, then i rather just stick with Kumble for now.

Doda has experience of coaching Goa while kumble doesn't. Easy choice it is.

Why are people belittling "Dodda Ganesh" here. He has applied for a coach and not as a senior player or something. A so so player can also be very good coach for all we know.

Fear Sehwag is an awful choice.But since BCCI themselves have asked him to apply , he will most likely get the job.

 

Moody probably the best choice of the ones applied.But would be great if we could tempt someone like Gillespie

That's a good point though...not like Mickey Arthur or Dave Whatmore or Tom Moody(a little better than the other 2) were outstanding international cricketers
