Changes in the team in match against SA

There is no way Yuvi will be dropped. And at this point he shouldnt.

 

It'll be one or two from Jadhav, Bumrah, or Yadav.

Not Jadhav. He's the only middle order bat who can score quickly. If openers fall early against SA, Yuvi & DK would present a very weak midle order.

You think against Morkel and Rabada, Hardik pandya should be played? His bowling is okay. And against South African bowlinf, son't see him scoring much to Rabada and Morkel, but he can score of other bowlers. I have a feeling that the moment Pandya will come, AB will bring Rabada or Morkel whoch won't be easy for Pandya.

 

Also what other changes would you want

I want Shami for Umesh. From today's team.

Rohit is opener and game has changed now so you can't compare Rohit's strike rate to someone coming at 7 as a hitter.

 

Yuvi and co might struggle too likenyou said, you are right but they will have the cushion to settle down and score as they will bat higher and not later as hitters. I am not sure Pandya will have that time to settle and he might throw away his wicket to them in frustration.

 

I do see Pandya smacking Parnell though and even Tahir, but there is a chance Fahir is done by the time Pandya comes in Parnell might not even play.

Shami for Pandya might be the other change. We don't need Jadeja batting all the way down at 8.. He should play at 7... We should play a proper fast bowler instead of Pandya

I'd bring in Ashwin , Jadeja isn't good on flat wickets - he has no variation - he is very easy to milk - any team that plays spin well - Jadeja isn't of much of a use. 

 

I'd keep Possibly Umesh out and Bring Shami in  and I'd put Jadeja out and bring Ashwin in

I would replace pandya with Ashwin. Ashwin can bat also. Need Yadav since he can provide pace and is a wicket taking option. Pandya is just a filler.

Disagree, jadeja type bowlers will be good against SA, just like Imad was. I would keep jadeja and Ashwin and take pandya out.

Jadeja is diff to imad wasim.....

Imad is more of in krunal pandya category

At 7,8 , ashwin batting is not of much use.......need a hitter their

Ashwin will also loose runs in fielding compare to pandya 

 

N who knows he might have an off day with ball so he cant replace pandya

Plzz go see his bowling on those aussie pattas last yr where ashwin was dropped.

Go check his stats on recent patta against Eng odi series.

 

Jadeja has been a better spinner on flat wkts than ashwin, ashwin cudnt even keep his place . Then jadeja wud easily save 10 runs in field compare to ashwin to......

Sadly we dnt consider small things before making such statements.....atleast u cud check the facts on flat wkts 

 

One off game and u cant say that, SL had brilliant players of spin bowling and they played him really well. At times u need to give crediot to opp.

It can go either way - India has too may choices hence one of the reasons for the confusion as well.

 

If you take Pandya out -  We go in with   Bumrah , Yadav , Bhuvi , Ashwin and Jadeja -     batting suffers  -  Pandya can pinch hit and be an effective 3rd seamer. 

So,  I'll def take Shami for Umesh .

 

Now either the option is Play Jadeja - SAF know him quite well from IPL and thats a negative.  From purely bowling perspective - Ashwin would be better.

If we take both Ashwin and Jadeja -  then who sits out

Ideally, I would want Pandya to get experience against South Africa.  But this is now a must-win game - so Shami for Umesh, and maybe Ash for Pandya makes sense.
