You are bang on. If we see record of spinners it's the likes of tahir zampa ruling the roost and not some test match specialists also strange to see jadeja not being able to fire it into the block hole.  Looks like he needs a good 2 to 3 months rest for his shoulder.

Kohli is probably a perfect contrast to Dravid in captaincy. Both are poor in their plans..one seems defensive and other ultra aggressive. A good captain will give the situation more weight rather than being overtly aggressive. Picking two front line finger  spinners on a flat wicket in England against a subcontinent side is a perfect recipe for disaster.

Exactly, spinners will go for runs, jadhav too perhaps could have gone.

 

I though Pandya and Bhuvi bowled brilliantly while Bumrah messed his overs up by bowling 1-2 bad balls per over after actually bowling some brilliant deliveries.

Even Bumrah bowled quite a few great balls ....a caught behind off a no ball....a yorker hitting the stumps but the bails did not fall.... couple of  LBW appeals of indippers....some good yorkers.

 

Problem was lots of wide balls and a couple of no balls which upset his rhythm and he had to bowl a couple of overs more in terms of balls.

It's not India's obsession with spin here, but picking the wrong spinners. Ashwin has hardly played any LOI cricket over the last year, and even his overall ODI record is very poor. He just is not a wicket-taking option any more in ODIs.

 

Jadeja's form in ODI cricket has been poor too. Even in the IPL he was getting hammered.

 

We should have picked better spinners - either Chahal or Mishra as the attacking leggie along with Krunal for his batting ability as the left armer. Kuldeep could have been another option.

 

We have to get past this "Ashwin and Jadeja should always be first pick spinners across any format" attitude.

Disappointed by kohli,he should stop taking advice from any seniors and should focus on what he is best, he was so good when he used to back pacers over spinners.

Yahi sun ne ko reh gaya tha......................ha but ye bhi 1 gem hai 

 

Send them to learn how to have worse economy, as shadab ended up having a higher Economy then both and had pandya wud have stayed 1-2 over more he wud have made shadab figures look like of wahab riaz

Atleast he picked up a wicket or so for his team , 18 overs of top spin from world's top spinners - Ashwin and Jadeja (who spends more time grooming his facial hair than reading the pitch) failed to do so and gave away 137 runs

I get the angst about Ashwin, but not Jadeja.  Yes he had a bad tourney and esp. a terrible final, but remember the runout he made and the brilliant catches he takes that have been critical in getting this team this far.  And he is usually a tight bowler and can give the ball a good tonk. No need to make emotional decisions here.

Bumped, again these duffers went with two spinners on a seaming track against a team which is OK with spinners  Ravi shastri and dhoni are hopeless
