I dont think there is any such thing as top 3 or middle order in T20s. India already has Kohli and perhaps Rohit as well for that job who can bat steadily if needed. You need to have a strike rate of 130 and above. Otherwise you shouldnt play T20s. Deepak Hooda is a big hitter and can also bowl handy off spin if needed. Edited July 5, 2017 by NareshK

SK_IH Posted July 5, 2017 Posted July 5, 2017 another thought watching pant n kishan open again for seniors this time would be great sscomp32 1

You play international in only those format you play domestics. All the stars play t20 leagues and skip domestic odis. That's why they are only selected for T20Is. http://www.espncricinfo.com/westindies/content/story/1098650.html

They know how to clear boundaries with sheer power and hence they do well in a 20 over game. You need more of those type of batsmen in our T20 team like Pandya, Kedhar Jadhav etc. Kohli and Rohit can be the accumulators. You dont need more of them like Manish Pandey, KL Rahul, Dhawan or Rahane in a 20 over game. I'm all for Pandey and KL Rahul to play ODIs but not T20s. Somehow Indian selectors and captains cant grasp this simple concept. We always had this problem though. Yuvi and Raina were selected for tests, Rahane, Rayudu for ODIs etc. The trend continues.

PSB_Zone Posted July 5, 2017 Posted July 5, 2017 Well Russel after ban and Dwayne Bravo comeback Will make this team Formidable Gayle/Grifith/hope/samuels/Bravo/Pollard/Russel/Narine/Holder/Braithwate/Badree Against Pant/Rohit/Kohli/Rahul/Raina/Hardik/Krunl/Kuldeep/Bhuvi/shami/Bumrah
speedheat Posted July 5, 2017 Posted July 5, 2017 Kohli is turning out to be such a"darpok" captain when its time to try some youngsters.

Especially Gayle, Narine, Pollard, Samuels, Brathwaite, even if just for the ODIs and T20. What I don't get is why the stars will play T20 for the Windies but nothing else. If it's about money, as I understand, then for cricket's sake WICB pay them what they want for the other forms too. A potential team of Gayle, Lewis, Hope, Samuels, Pollard, Brathwaite, Holder, Narine, Nurse, Joseph, Taylor would put bums on seats and test England a bit more. Or swap the second spinner (Nurse) for Mohammed who did well against England in that short ODI series in the spring. Anyway I know it won't happen so this is all just fantasy and wishful thinking. Depresssing. Its not about money - its about control. WICB does not select the 'name' players for their team because those guys have a degree of financial independence due to their T20 league contracts. So they don't fall in line to the WICB diktats slavishly. WICB arbitrarily makes them ineligible for West Indies selection based on its whims. Sometimes using "attendance" in domestic cricket as criteria, sometimes "fitness". I mean, this is team where their best test batsman had his pay reduced from Grade B to Grade C, while a dinosaur like Marlon Samuels who played worse than him was upgraded to Grade A, and on top of that was publicly humiliated by the board president who justified it by attacking his test average. When he dared to 'talk back', he was promptly suspended and banned from the team overnight, and is not even allowed to participate in domestic cricket. West Indies board has been in a civil war with its players for over 20 years. Its not new, whats new is that the top players finally have options to get paid outside of county cricket.
