Agreed..  Its even effecting his form here

He is good for Tests for now and SLIGHT MISTAKE SACHIN WAS REMOVED IN 1997 FROM CAPTAINCY... He didn't give anything up LOL

Ind needs Kohli as player more than anything

although sachin was a spineless captain this kohli would still be better captain than he ever was..

Kohli has shown different aspects of captaincy in test & odi.In test he has shown his aggressive captaincy, but in odi he becomes very timid.

He should come out of shadow of Dhoni & try to make decisions himself.

He will be different captain Once Dhoni, Yuvraj retires

So who is stopping him now ? You are acting like Dhoni and Yuvraj are beating him up in dressing room if he doesn't do what he wants LOL he is the captain and what about  RCB is Ab holding him back

What a lot of rubbish... You are the last person i expected that crap from

Kohli is depending too much on Dhoni' s inputs. I just think we may see different aspects of his captaincy once he is the free to lead the side in his absence

I doubt Dhoni ll tell him anything if doesn't want to hear.He will just mind his business.... Its Virat going to Dhoni here not Dhoni coming up Virat and telling him what to do.. From what i see on TV and again who is stopping him in RCB that he ended up #8 last season

Yes Virat is going to Dhoni. He is too dependent on him for his advice which is not bad,

I get your point but what happens with RCB? There he is free. Or there also he keeps running to ABD and couldnt captain freely?

Maybe he is not captaincy material.

This is an assumption more than anything.

Even if Dhoni is advicing him, at the end of the day the decisions are his and decisions that he is comfortable with , Dhoni isn't bullying him into it.  Half the sensible things that are being done are also thanks to Dhoni .

Hmm...who was the selector and/or chairman of BCCI at that time? Cuz it takes a person with balls to deal with the sachin bhakts that surely must have been infuriated.

It was also a myth that he walked away in 2012... HE WAS FORCED

"On December 12, 2012, we met Sachin and asked him about his future plans. He said he did not have retirement on his mind. But the selection committee had reached a consensus on Sachin... and had informed the board too about it. Perhaps Sachin understood what was coming because at the time of the next meeting, Sachin called and said he was retiring (from ODIs). If he had not announced his decision to quit then, we would have definitely dropped him," Patil made this stunning revelation.

All we can see is kohli taking help from dhoni. But how much of it is sensible or senseless, no amount of watching on TV can give you any indications. There is only one way you can know this: If you are an Indian player privy to all those advices dhoni gives on the field.
