cric_fan
Your top order is also a issue..they seem to bat slow for Ind standards. WC2011INDIA 1 Link to comment

I was thinking we will have issues in worldcup w.r.t knock out games especially semis. Quarter final victory might seem like an achievement now. Link to comment

Ideally, there should be atleast 2 such hitters based on present-day ability. Well, we have a champion dot-hitter - Dhoni (or Dot-ni). Link to comment
express bowling
Lack of 6 hitters from 4 to 7 ( current-day-ability ) , apart from Pandya , has been a worry for us for quite some time. Many of us have pointed it out repeatedly. Today was a good example. We were 252 for 1 after the 40th over..... reached just 337.... only 85 runs from such position of strength in the last 10 overs. We need a strong nbr 3 in tests bcoz a wicket could fall pretty early due to nature of pitches. Do we need a prodding nudging kind of accumulators in middle order in odis even when our top 3 have a cumulative average of around 50? In 6 out of 10 games they are mostly gonna get to bat around 37th over. Laaloo, express bowling and maniac 3 Link to comment

SK_IH
yes they are worst in current scenario,25 of 18 balls is a pedestrian effort, ideally it should be 35-40 of 18 balls but that cant be achieved by running 2s and 3s Link to comment
speedheat
Pitch was flat as a road, heck like Munro got 50, 25(18) ball was pathetic inning. Link to comment

Absolutely right .. Frustrating thing is there is no attempt done to address this issue by selectors . Going back to Geesa peeta accumulaters . There is only 1 place from 4 to 7 for an accumulater .
