Agreed. Has shown the ability to seam the ball and hit some very tough to play lengths at good pace. Whether he can sustain that bowling 15-20 overs a day is another question but the improvement is there to see.

He is definitely ready, we need to manage his work load, he is already down in pace from ct and some time looks fatigue, i dont want to see him playing all three format getting fatigued and loosing his pace, at the moment our test attack is doing fine, I think we need to add a left arm  genuine pace bowler for variation in it more than bumrah.

SA is filled with right arm batsmen. Jaddu will be more effective me guess

Just feel ashwin is genuinely better spinner and better bat

No harm in trying, untll we don’t try we will never find out how he will turn out. In South Africa he might be able to use the bounce well.

 

Best time for him to bowl will be with the new ball which is 10 overs old, so basically coming first change, he can still have some shine on the ball remaining and go all out for wickets.

Its unfortunate that Bumrah is getting tagged as a short form specialist.  IIRC he actually has played full FC seasons in Ranji.  And done well.

Good team but Ashwin maybe needed in place of Jaddu for his more dependable batting.

The problem is when you become a top of the line ODI specialist,you miss out on the longer format even at the domestic level...when was the last 3,4 or 5 day game Bumrah played?

Played a lot of matches in the last FC season, both Ranji and Duleep Trophy
