Gollum Posted December 16, 2017 Posted December 16, 2017 (edited) He is the only batsman in the world who can match/surpass Steven Smith. Grossly unfair that the insecure selfish captain and politician coach are allowing their personal matters to interfere in their decision making, what they are doing to Rahul is treachery. Never seen such a great prospect treated this shabbily by any team. It is in Indian cricket's interests that Rahul be an automatic starter across all formats. In stead you have jokers like Karthik, Pandey, Jadhav, Rahane in the shorter formats and a kabaddi player like Dhawan as our test opener. WTF is going on? Rahul's series against Aus earlier this year (7 consecutive 50s) was path breaking, that is greatness which you see in a rare few like SRT, Lara, Smith, etc.... In 2012 when he was a teenager and Steyn the world's best, the Saffer saw greatness in Rahul and predicted that he would get 10000+ test runs. Why is Kohli such an insecure b!tch? Doesn't he realize that by selecting a player like Rahul he could create history overseas and win a WC or two? Heart bleeds seeing what they are doing with Rahul. I admire the fact that Smith is scoring so much but cricket needs a rivalry. Sachin had Lara, Viv had Sunny/Greg Chappell.......... We as cricket fans are missing out on something special because of no rivalry among the batsmen, Smith is so far ahead of the Kohlis and Roots that is getting boring to watch Edited December 16, 2017 by Gollum Jimmy Cliff 1

Surround yourself with mediocrity to look great.
King Tendulkar Posted December 16, 2017 Posted December 16, 2017 He shoudl be automatic pick in all formats . Agree although I think you may have been over dramatic in making your point Gollum 1

He is little immature and throwing away his wicket But you sound little over-dramatic and going little over-board in elucidating the situation... Glad kohli didn't had a captain like him when he was finding his foot in the Indian team.... Gollum 1
bowl_out Posted December 16, 2017 Posted December 16, 2017 Agree with the premise.. but why the comparison with Steve Smith for everything? The step is to let him have a sure place in the Test XI. Then we can talk about comparing him with the guy who has made Test batting look ridiculously easy Gollum 1
Pollack Posted December 16, 2017 Posted December 16, 2017 There is absolutely no justification for not having him in playing eleven in tests. In ODIs he has been inconsistent but deserves a long run. If a sh!try technique batsman like Rohit Sharma was given many chances, Rahul is a much better Infact potentially even more talented than Kohli. He deserves a bit of long rope. Does cornerstone have him? Gollum and Turning_track 1 1
wanted_desi Posted December 16, 2017 Posted December 16, 2017 Poor KL RAHUL, i am not sure what he would be feeling by seeing likes of Dhawan replacing him in test matches, and likes of Rahane replacing him in ODI. KL Rahul Life: Dehli club hates him, because they want Dhawan over him in Tests. Mumbai Club hates him because they want Rahane over him in ODIS Jimmy Cliff, Gollum and Turning_track 3
Brainfade Posted December 16, 2017 Posted December 16, 2017 All-world batting talent. Made of glass. Can't be relied upon to play more than 10 matches at a time. Plus, he loses concentration way too often - if anything, that unwavering concentration and determination is Smith's greatest strength.
sensible-indian Posted December 16, 2017 Posted December 16, 2017 I have always felt that Lokesh Rahul when he gets going has the ability to make other batsmen look mediocre. This guy can play in any pitch in any situation. Whether he is mentally strong is the only question. Lol at the Indian management to drop Rahul. I mean, I can't even put into words how stupid it is but no...let's give DK more games. Jackasses.
putrevus Posted December 16, 2017 Posted December 16, 2017 Oh give it a rest let him do something before we make him Bradman's second coming. He flopped miserably in SL in ODIs that is why he is out of the team. His list A sr is 72 people are making him into Bradman. He will play tests in SA and he will get plenty of chances to show his worth in tests in next 18 months.
Khota Posted December 16, 2017 Posted December 16, 2017 Rahul is good. After that let him prove himself.
fineleg Posted December 16, 2017 Posted December 16, 2017 I do support KL Rahul over Dhawan in the 11. But - he is no Steve Smith

Does cornerstone have him? He has been stellar in 2 of the 3 formats. Was our best batsman in the series win against Australia earlier this year (with a match-winning performance at Bengaluru). But now has to sit out because of Dhawan's stat padding against Lanka . Unreal scenes. Edited December 16, 2017 by Jimmy Cliff
