putrevus
He should be playing over guys like Khaleel, Thakur. I don't know if he is better in death over guy like Chahar. Chahar and Bhuvi have improved a lot in death bowling, it is very important aspect in odis and t20s. Shami and Saini will leak runs but will take wickets. MCcricket 1 Link to comment

ShoonyaSifar
Give him (and Siraj) a proper run across formats. They give it their all, try to hit the deck, attack the stumps and do not float the ball like Bhuvi, Chahar or other pretenders like Shardul, Unadkat or Kaul. Rightarmfast 1 Link to comment
vishalvirsingh
For odi"s Shammi and Saini are genuine fast bowlers. Deepak chahar and bhuvi are medium fast with swing. All 4 are good. It's the conditions that should determine..if conditions are swing friendly these guys can be picked else shammi and saini should be preferred. Bumrah is the best. Shardul was fair today ..not bad. putrevus
Shardul showed why teams need players like him today, you just cannot go into a match with 4 number 11s even if they are Glen Mcgraths. Bhuvi also found place due to his ability to hold one end with bat. MCcricket and Frustrated 1 1 Link to comment
vvvslaxman
He is very quick off the pitch not just in the air. IF he adds some skill he will be very potent overseas. Link to comment

Saini has loads of skills .... -- Can bowl a high percentage of deliveries targeting the top of off stump. -- Can seam the ball both ways -- Has a well directed quick bouncer -- Can get the ball to rear up from length -- Has developed the accurate, indipping, quick yorker recently. -- Can reverse the old ball. tweaker 1 Link to comment

If he can do what Umesh consistently does these days. That is taking the ball away from right handers he will be lethal. Link to comment

express bowling
It was very exciting to watch Saini bowl his 2nd over to 8th over ( 7 of his 10 overs ). In this period we saw some really high quality fast bowling consisting of ... -- top of off stump directed balls seaming both ways -- quick well directed bouncers -- quick indipping yorkers -- rising short balls around the off stump -- consistent high pace of 137 kph to 148 kph. And he picked up 2 wickets. Will we get to see him bowl in tandem with Bumrah in the next series ? It will be a treat to watch ... and effective too. tweaker and Mosher 2 Link to comment

Why should the runs from the tail matter when you have world number 1 and 2 in your top 3? In any case, runs from number 7-8 can win you only an occasional game especially if they hardly get to bat in inconsequential matches where the captain is hell bent on using every opportunity to pad up his stats. No point choosing a No.8 based on his batting skills ... after choosing a No.6 who is unfit half the time and not in the best of form. 7 solid batsmen should be good enough 95% of the time. And 4 good wicket-taking bowlers will win you more matches than 2 mediocre bowlers who can bat a bit plus just 2 good bowlers. Suhaan, Mosher, Sgattick10 and 1 other 4 Link to comment
Suhaan
2 out of top 5should rather learn to roll their arms rather than asking no8 ,9 to prioritize batting This also gives balance to the team, itsnot likeThakur is a pollock or Heath Streak or even Agarkar for that matter Sgattick10 and express bowling 1 1 Link to comment
vvvslaxman
Saini is 27 years old. He has about 2 to 3 years to make his mark. There is nothing like wickets. That is one thing you could not complain about Agarkar. Always a wicket taker. Link to comment

Who said runs from tail don't matter. That oocassional bats they get might be in the biggest game.Every team needs to win that tough game in a tournament where bowlers have to come to play a big part with bat too. What the hell is he supposed to do, stop with this nonsense that he is padding his stats . If Saini plays tests also that will be the problem.Ishant Sharma played some memorable innings with bat . No one is saying Saini should not play or be given more chances. You need to be Glenn Mcgraths with ball if you want to get into the team with just one skill long term. Link to comment
