Fearlessness is what makes Iyer stand out

On the other hand we have Karthik who looks like he is playing for his spot and then we have this young kid grabbing opportunities with both hands....we need more players like this.

I would have said Pandey too but I have seen him play some selfish knocks....I always thought Pandey was better than Jadhav but gotta give it to Jadhav the guy “tries”.

We need more players like this who take the horse by the scruff of its neck(is that how the saying goes)....I was disappointed in Siraj  for getting overwhelmed by the occasion but give him benefit of the doubt but no more emotions...just go there and kill it every time.

We need more of this.

You would find very few players who would start winning you games straightaway in pressure situations against strong attacks. Temperament comes with exposure and match experience. Even Kohli was a normal player between 2008-11 and it took hm 3 years to turn into a beast. Whats required from young players is intent and execution which Iyer has. Now its unto management how they nurture him. I am always a believer that young players should be given uninterrupted chances for few series. The treatment that Karun Nair, Rishabh Pant and Jayant Yadav got is pathetic. Hope they wont screw up Iyer like that.

ofcourse he will improve.......but with every youngster i say let hold on before we say he is our permanent solution. With iyer i do feel quality fast bowlers might test him......lets c. Even though he looks to be an excellent player of spin i have my doubts against seam n swing and its overseas tour time. So i ll wait for sometime.

Yes he shud be given a long run .

Who can play seam and swing in the current line up anyways?

Our current lot are some of the best players of genuine pace but none can play swing except maybe to some extent Vijay and Rahane.

Ability against Spin has gone down.

so if he can play Spin well that is a start.

My concern is

A. overseas tours are ahead and he is stillvery young in his career

B. Yes most of them struggle, yet i find their game more tighter then him even of dhawan n rohit at start .

Again its a personal opinion, m still not  confident about him as i wud have been of KL rahul . I hope he does well as he gives us someone in middle who can destroy spin and also looks like someone who can give a over or few

Under current circumstances in Nepotism XI, a player like Iyer is like Oxygen. Hope these SOBs  don't drop him to accommodate Kohli, especially with a no hope like Karthik in the team.
