The photos I have posted above are in our home tests vs SA. Even in those spin friendly tracks Philander got Dhawan out for consecutive ducks in first test.

Dhawan could not handle philander even in India until he got injured on last India tour.

His issue is technical as well as temperamental. As an opener you need to leave a lot of balls early on for which Dhawan doesn't have the discipline. Also a simple guard change will not be enough to cover his technical weakness because Philander and other SA Pacers swing or seam ball both ways so if he gets the off stump guard it will pave way for more LBWs.

 

Let's see how he goes.
