wasnt he the best batsman in NZ test series last time, m not saying have him in the team . Still dont say these guys havent scored runs and yes dhawan shudnt be in the team

In fact, if we had bowled better in first innings and chose the right lineup, we would have been chasing 50 runs in 4th innings (thanks to Pandya's incredible knock).

 

But no.......Kohli had to go and * it up for all.

That was when they were young and hungry to prove their mettle!! Now after such a successful home season and facing ridiculous Lankan trundlers at home ,our batsmen had a false sense of belief that they'll  just turn up and score easily on saf tracks,but it doesn't work like that. OTTOT no practice game arranged .

These guys now have to work extremely hard in practice sessions before the next test and kick out rohit and dhawan first!!

Problem  is that there is no opener we have who can perform better than Dhawan, Vijay and Rahul on such wickets. They also will do miserably with bat in similar situation. We need some opener who is quality and better than these 3. Some opener should be playing county like Pujara and maybe that guy will do better than these set of openers on such wickets.

He took 2 wicket, got 1 run out which almost everyone in the team seems to be missing.

Dhawan averages 18 in England , Australia and South Africa combined.

 

And we had absolute roads in Australia last time.

Nonsense . Lets not put a proven performer in VJ and future potential in KL with some one like Dhawan , who everyone including Virat probabaly knew was going to fail here

I still don't understand why Rahane was not picked! If he is not selected for 2nd test, I fear genuine fans like me will forever lose interest in this team. Its stinks of buddy selection and not fair selection.

Kohli (like Ponting) gets forward or back with conviction and as a result has the balance to turn defence into attack and vice versa. The rest of our batsman are caught in no mans land.

I can't believe a guy who averages 70 in SA has to sit out for a guy who averages like 12 in the same conditions.
