there is difference in batting first and chasing. expecting to score 88 in last 5 overs while chasing is unreal.  it rarely happens. you cannot have an RR of 8 till and expect you score 85-90 runs in last 5. Delhi chased down 195 against MI and they kept their scoring RR maintained at 10 RPO consistently.  Kohli's approach is fine chasing low totals, but expecting to scorer 18-20 runs per in last 5 overs is just madness irrespective of the batsman.  In this approach, you will never win. Raising RR creates pressure and you buckle under it.  Delhi applied the approach of maintaining their scoring RR. Their approach yielded them right result against MI, lost against KKR.

1st thing DD has a different personnel the RCB

DD has roy, pant, maxwell, christian/morris  ..........RCB has none like them , infact rcb doesnt even have 4 batsman in total

and in suppourt gambhir, iyer, shreyad much better suppourt then mandeep , sarfraz, corey who has been out of game

RCB has kohli n ABDV, QDK.....DD doesnt have player like that

So both cant play in same style

80 in last 5 overs is tough but still possible if these 3 are set , specially when u knw dew will fall . I wont suggest this if the wkt is slow and will keep breaking down with time

RCB has to play acc to their strength not DD strength

RCB did try the other approach against RR , they failed their to .

Their problem is they have only 2-3 batsman so a plan has to be made around them and obviously it will fail many times as u only have 2-3 batsman but making a plan around them is only their best chance .

If they dnt loose wkts their RR will get better , Kohli also has his limitation but he is their best chance so bat acc to him

Deshpande is a hack. Kohli as opener is a risk. he wastes PP and if he gets out early, team morale takes hit. On flat pitches while chasing, PP is the most important factor. i want kohli at 4, ABDV at 3.

hacks work in t20 specially on patta and then chinnaswamy is his home ground where RCB will play most games , even mandeep is hack still hasnt done bad . They have no option other then trying few combinations

kohli made almost 1000 runs in 2016 at opening and yesterday also 92. Everything is a risk.....

He has batted at 3 in most season n yet made most runs when he opened and if he opens again he ll again pile on runs

If he gets out team morale takes a hit V/S if he doesnt he carries the whole team

The probabity of 2nd happening is more as kohli is kind of batsman who cuts down risk a lot more then other so him scoring at top with consistency is a high possibility

Kohli at 4 is quite a bad idea, ur basically reducing ur best batsman into a half batsman ......he is a kind of batsman who needs time . That will make RCB into a ABDV surrounded team

Roy, Pant, Max well are compared match to QDK, Kohli and ABDV. Both teams depend on these three. GG, Iyer have done zilch till  now.

he is a T20 Hack means he isnt yet good enough to be a solid T20 player. his struggle against pace was obvious.  Regarding Kohli's runs, runs dont matter if team loses. It is not about individual runs, it is team benefiting from his runs. His runs yesterday were as useless as turd. most of them were scored when game was lost. They were 75/2 in first 10 overs chasing 214 at least 30 runs behind the target and he had played most of the deliveries.

That looks like defense only when you mention that CSK had players and RCB didn't.

The likes of ABD, DeKock, Mandeep, Anderson were all out whereas CSK still had Bravo waiting who's in prime form. One of the main reasons for the loss is Jadeja too. However I agree that Kohli should have accelerated earlier.

Bottom line is Kohli more often than not chases targets by orchestrating a planned chase, whereas Dhoni keeps everything till the last few overs which is perilious (More so in this case as they have wasted Bravo).
