Man you are being very harsh on Saha, he averages around equal/more than the other 2, besides he has more 100s than both PP and DK combined. In fact he even has a 100 outside Asia which a certain so called 'better cricketer than SRT' could never manage in 91 tests !!!! I would argue that at his best with the bat he will at the bare minimum match any other keeper in India's cricket history.

I smell a very sinister agenda being put forth by CSK supporters whenever the issue of Saha comes up. I think they can't stomach the fact that a timid looking, shy, introvert from North Bengal has better test credentials than their thalaiva. I have observed this trend over the past 2 years, whenever Saha performs well they pretend he doesn't exist and the moment he has a bad match they jump on his head. In fact so shameless are these guys that they even hype up a serial failure like Pappu to put down Saha. For them India winning has no meaning, they only desire that Dhoni remain in public memory as a test hero which is a logical fallacy. These people may love their franchise and T20 cricket, but they know in the bottom of their hearts that to be called a great player, test performance is the numero uno criteria. It eats them from the inside that someone so simple looking with no PR machinery is slowly getting his due recognition as India's greatest keeper batsman, at least in the minds of knowledgeable cricket fans.

Saha has been a vital pillar in our quest to number 1 spot in test cricket. He may lack the style but no doubting the substance.....as a matter of fact guys like Steve Smith/Shiv/Graeme Smith/Steve Waugh.... all are rightfully regarded as legends no matter how their runs came. Saha too has played a few clutch knocks in the last 3 years and add to that his ATG keeping (4 missed chances in the last 17 completed test matches !!!), he is the last player whose place should be questioned.

You are smoking one of those funny cigarettes buddy. There are two type of CSK fans

1. Resides in Chennai or from TN (Usually a Dhoni fan but also fans of popular players like Suresh Raina, Dwayne Bravo, Matthew Hayden, etc)

2. Dhoni fans from other states not having a home franchise (once he finishes playing they may not support CSK)

I think you are confusing them. There are no fans of either type I have encountered in real life that put down Saha. At the end of the day, we are all Indian fans. Dhoni is not playing in tests anymore and most likely not play in T20I. I was happy that he retired from tests as I felt Saha is a better keeper which is more important in tests. I think MI fans may like Rohit but wouldn't want him in the test side (if they are sensible and intelligent ).

Any sane cricket follower knows that Saha is miles ahead of Parthiv. Most of us were in favour of Saha over anyone else. But the last SA series proved that Saha didn't do much wrt batting (he's still way better than Pappu mind you, a few posters like KT wanted Pappu in the team ahead of Saha for his batting - Let's call that a brainfade :giggle: )

As of now Saha is better now, closely followed by DK. Both DK and Pant are capable of playing as pure batsmen in LOIs, but with Rahul also in the bench I don't see all of that happening. Unfortunately, all said and done, Kohli will select Pappu lol.

Saha at his best can score a ugly but resilient 20....DK a beautiful 30 and Parthiv an attractive 40.

Now for those additional 20 odd runs and some aesthetically pleasing viewing, the downside is these 2 will single-handedly revive careers and by that I mean careers of opposition batsmen.

Cook will be praying right now to have one of these 2 as the keeper for the England series lol

How does that make Saha the best WK batsman?

He should still be first choice keeper alright, but in no universe is he the best WK bat.. and neither is Dhoni

In overseas tests Bhuvi/Ashwin are also better than Dhoni. Imagine the nerve of a Dhoni chamcha talking about DRS when it was your thalaiva who blocked DRS usage in India matches hence costing us many test wins.

Whats your issue with Dhoni. And why do you consider Saha as an ATG.

No some idiot said he was dropped first time because of injury. He batted for like 11 overs and kept for 20 overs.

The argument was about this specific game. Either you are short on memory, or a pretender. And playing despite an injury mid-game - a lot of cricketers do that. Some idiots cannot figure for sure.

After seeing dk keep in the IPL, I have no high hopes. This guy hasn't changed in 10 years just like pappu.

I didn't follow most of his IPL matches, so will take your word. Saha is so vital now, it is a sad state of affairs where most Indian fans don't understand the luxury a pure keeper like him provides to us, especially considering the ability of our slip cordon. He has to get fit for England and play all 5 tests else we are so screwed.

Those indian fans don't like Saha because of other reasons. Those losers should simply be ignored.
