Saha to be monitored for finger injury, now out of Afghanistan test

Wicketkeeper-batsman Wriddhiman Saha is set to be monitored by the BCCI's medical team for a finger injury that he picked up during the IPL

Saha also missed six games in the IPL because of a shoulder niggle.

Selectors should select Rishabh in his place. 

 

But knowing this selection committee the chance of selection of Dinesh Karthik looks more bright.

I am on the fence on this one. I would also have picked Karthick and Dhoni over him but he can replace Dhoni too.

Hope he is 100% fit before England. The reason Pak won the 1st test was outstanding catching by slip cordon and their WK Sarfraz, can't think of any other Indian keeper match Super Saha behind the stumps.

Exactly! Also, without taking anything away from the brave fighting spirit shown by the Irish, the reason IRE v PAK Test was so close is to somewhat extent due to the considerable largesse of the Pakistani fielding. Contrast with the absolute dismantling of England, and you can easily appreciate the importance of a clinical fielding display.

 

In real cricket, the wicketkeeper is foremost a part of the bowling unit, and it is time people realised that.

No some idiot said he was dropped first time because of injury. He batted for like 11 overs and kept for 20 overs.

While a freeloader is celebrated for a fluky IPL victory where he had all of maybe 1% contribution at best,our unsung hero who has won us crucial games and is injured ahead of a big series is being largely ignored

Saha at his best can score a ugly but resilient 20....DK a beautiful 30 and Parthiv an attractive 40.

 

Now for those additional 20 odd runs and some aesthetically pleasing viewing,the downside is these 2 will single-handedly revive careers and by that I mean careers of opposition batsmen.

 

Cook will be praying right now to have one of these 2 as the keeper for the England series lol
