More worried about BK in test matches. It will be a grueling 5 match series and he will have a huge role to play there. So need him to be 100% fit for tests. Its better if he takes a break in this T20 and ODI series.

Good to see Umesh bring control over his bowling while sacrificing some speed. If he can replicate his last over consistently, he will be a regular besides Bumrah in limited overs.

Ishant has been learning it for over 10 years in Internationals. Agreed that you won't need to be a finished product while starting internationls but it will only benefit him to play a season or two more of domestics to find his way regarding his stock ball, variations, etc. International cricket won't give you any leverage.

He already has all the variations. good slower ball, good yorker and bouncer.

We have a fading Bhuvi,so is the case with Umesh ,he has lost pace, When is the time we are going to try someone who is ready to play at intl level?..injuries,loss of form etc catalyses fast tracking of a player..

Even if he is ready Kohli and company will only bench him for next few series. Better he plays a season or two of domestics and get bucketload of wicket, rather than rot on the bench. These are his development years, so should play as much as he can.

bhuvi can play t-20's coz of death bowling and test matches coz of swing.....but , he is a goner in odi's ...coz ball neither swings, nor seams in odi's , plus he is unable to pick wickets with the new ball......need another hit-the-deck bowler.

he has been mediocre in odis in his whole career...averages 37 odd ...worse than pandya.....lmao, the bhuvi loving brigade is on the full display now........he has only performed in tests and t-20s, never in odis....

actually , umesh was hitting the hard length about 85miles with the odd one upto 87/88 miles.....umesh looked far  more impressive than english trundlers.

Even after he recovered from his back injury in Ipl he was not at his best yesterday he looked ordinary without any swing becomes a cannon fodder .He will be crucial for us in the Test series last time he was Man of the Series when we toured in 2014 hopefully he regains his form as he will be a vital member for us in the next World Cup too.

Expect more dry wickets. Its been hotter than normal and its expected to stay like this at least another 10 days

Yeh most likely. But if the wickets are slow, then they could be negated too.

He might not be the best on flat decks, but has improved remarkably as compared to his first couple of years. Clocks 140+, which helps unlike his early 130s few years back. Still pretty good at the death, and hasn't recovered fully either. Let the man live!

he is becoming more of a defensive bowler without swing.
