Team management reduces 4 day practice game to 3 day

India's four-day practice game vs Essex has been reduced to a three-day game... now will be played from Wednesday to Friday, instead of Wednesday to Saturday. Team management wants to reach Birmingham early and prepare for first Test. #EngvInd

Before departing for England-Speaking to the media, Ravi Shastri said that the Indians had a considerable amount of time to adapt to the conditions before they play the five-match Test series on August 1. Prior to the tests, India are playing 3 T20Is and 3 ODIs against the same opposition. Shastri said playing the shorter formats first will be "ideal" preparation for them, giving them a month to acclimatize to the conditions, and Kohli added that by the time they play the Tests, they will be "so comfortable that we won't even feel like we'll be playing an away series".

Pakistan played 3 practise matches including a test against Ireland for their England tour preparation which helped them wallop England in first test. And India thinks they can cancel practice games (against SA) and reduce practice game days and still be well prepared.

 

We took two tests just to get used to SA conditions. How many tests will we take here to prepare?

Playing on flat decks that Eng prepare for ODIs will surely be ideal prep!

Not saying Kumble was a flawless coach but I do miss him at least he was professional enough to coach us rather than the drunkard Shastri who is just there to pamper these rockstars.

It is that cheerleader shastri who can't call out kohli for the unprofessional behavior.

Kohli's wife is with him and going jogging and shopping are important.
