Techniques Of Current Indian Batsmen.

Technique is over rated. It is all about hand eye coordination, reflexes and instinctive reaction to the ball. There is not enough time for any batsman to think about all those stuff when you bat. Most people here, I don't think, has batted against a cricket ball. A batsman gets 120 ms to react to a ball bowled at 85 mph. Only thing they can do is practice leaving as many balls as possible. Change guard to off stump and leave anything outside but even that becomes an issue against Anderson who angles the ball in and batsmen are forced to play.

Dhawan has the worst technique. No balance on top of that angled bat and always going hard at the ball like a cow lasher.

People compare him to Sehwag saying if Viru can play tests so can Dhawan forgetting that Sehwag had impeccable balance and could present full face of the bat if his life depended on it.

A left handed Sehwag would have fared very similar to Dhawan.

It's all in the practice games. The technique that works on SC pitch may not work against a Duke ball in English conditions. You need to predict which way the ball is going to swing and quick enough to adjust to it with in a fraction of a second. You can only master that by practicing and get your body reflexes to adjust automatically.

But the idiot of a coach not only didn't arrange enough practice games but he went ahead and reduced the number of play days. What's the point of playing Test cricket then if you are not putting 100% effort and have a loser mentality?

The word you're looking for is seam, we don't need to predict swing - one can easily observe it with the way ball comes out of the hand or swing in the air. You can partly negate late movement, swing or seam, by lowering the bat lift and not turning the face of the bat. Play if with as straight a face as possible if it's on the stumps, always works decently.

Holding just stated that he doesn't consider the Indian batsmen FTBs, but blames them for not preparing for the series properly
Day one was as good as condition you will get for swing bowling. But this innings they have to show more application.

Rahane before he got out, and Pujara are showing it this innings finally. Rahul and Vijay look hopeless
