I guess the issue is Pujara is a luxury player. The other batsman needs to the hard work which is scoring runs while Pujara peacefully takes large time to settle. Its the other player job to keep the scoreboard ticking. Fundamentally, nothing wrong in this method especially when the other player is doing well. But here in England, all players are doing bad, so the obvious question becomes that why play this luxury player at all?

Pujara's 17(90) kind of innings that go nowhere and is pointless. He absolutely shows no intent. Almost like the MSD of Test cricket.17(90) starts are ok if you can convert them into 100(230) kind of innings, but you see such innings from him regardless of the pitch and it takes one good delivery to render your entire innings waste because you have been blocking the easy hit me balls with your phattu approach.

he is below ashwin, dhawan, bhuvi and even if u add WI runs to his scores, his avg wnt improve much

Dravid had a lot more strokes then Pujara and thats why he was successful........

 

Cnt put a huge part of blame on kohli for pujara , he avg 26 overseas and many of those test were under dhoni

Id rather blame kohli for rahane n rahul for putting their position under threats for avg players like dhawan n rohit 

U can't compare pujara with Dravid,pujara is consistent failure in overseas from debut to till now.Dravid started his test career with 96 in England,his was super in first windis tour again walsh & Ambrose.first tour of nz & sa was good,only failure in Australia 99.BTW from debut to 2005 Dravid didn't miss single test,his first absent from test in 2005 against sl in own captaincy.

He was way overrated right from the start, that cheerleader in chief called him Pujji FFS 

This should be the last away tour for him and the end of Shastri, but sadly Kohli needs someone to stroke his ego in the dressing room
