Rahul avgs 8 in test cricket this year. Why should be he selected ahead of Dhawan who got more runs this year??

no.  it does not work like that.  it is always decided and told to player the night before the game.  They will have meeting tonight and then tell players who is playing.  They might have even decided who is playing before the two-day net session as karthk did not practice so he knew he isnt playing

That's I'm saying - they Get to know who is playing the night before.
Kartik Is definitely not gonna be the wicketkeeper it seems.

idiotic to drop curran
.rashid should have sat out
I don't know - actually many of the current Indian Batsmen are better against Pace so maybe?
Curran is mostly useful with the Bat IMO

UAE is not our home. It's neutral venue. Anyway ODI series was one sided 5-0 :cantstop:

dhawan will replace murli tom
Rahul needs to perform else he'll be dropped after 3rd Test.
He stopped selling in the market after a while.

They dropped Curran, while having two free wickets at top?

Its understandable that they want one slow bowling option, So they could have asked Pope to open and dropped Jennings or dropped Buttler. Curran was providing much needed variety in the attack and already saved their ass once.

As for India, I still have some hopes that batting would come good.

curran is a natural swing bowler...+ left arm , which troubles right handers naturally irrespective of the pace...more imp, an inform player and currently eng's best batsman bar bartistow

Let's see... Remember we were high on hopes that we would win in Lords because of no Stokes?
