This guy had only one kind of game for overseas and that was to leave as many balls as possible.. now that he has abandoned that and thinks that he can match shot to shot with Rahul or Prithvi, incredible how they bought him back seeing some knocks on those low grade county matches..

Vijay was never talented enough to play in Indian 11 for tests.

 

When sehwag was failing ..he got a chance but there were much better players around in India.

I can name at least 8 batsman who were more talented than murli and got very little chance.

 

Wv Raman failed in a couple of innings..he was dropped.

Jaffer played lil for India where as he had a complete game.

Even Ambati Raydu is better than Vijay and many more...

Vijay averages 39 in tests after playing 59 matches.   He is competing very well with his partner Rahul to become the worst opener in our history.

go look at his knocks in lords when we won in 2014 and brisbane 2014...

the last time rayudu went to aus chris woakes made him dance on those pitches with white ball

Imagine what aussie bowelrs with a lot more pace wud have done to him with red ball 

and ur saying he was better then a guy who scored a 100 in brisbane one the toughest pitches in australia

Lets not *ing demean their achievement. these guys have 100 overseas and rahul career isnt even over yet

At this point he is good only to bash these B Grade county teams.  Let him have some fun there. Should have never been part of the squad. Make no mistake. I always liked his compact defense in few of the overseas tours. That was a very brief period.

He is in the team becz of a remarkable feat that he has achieved.  Can you guess what ?    Averaging nearly 35 after playing 60 odd test matches.  How many indian test openers hv achieved such a thing?
