Looking at the pattern, we may not see more than 1-2 changes. Or who knows come in with the same 11

At this time Shaw and anyone else can open. Take a punt between the too. Both Dhwan and Rahul haven’t been anything special that they are making any difference to the team. Shaw must br chosen as one player though. I would stick with therest of the batting order.

I would like to play jadeja ahead of Ashwin also.

if Shaw and Pujara open, Rahane should come in at 3. This guy has no reservations about batting in the top order in LOIs and domestics, but shys away from doing that in SENA where he is supposed to be a key batsman in these type of conditions

im a big fan of shaw and he should go to the top. but and big but- has he sorted out his back foot sliding technique. If not- jimmy Anderson will make mince meat of him.

This would be an opportunity for him to also understand his weaknesses and take corrective measures. If he plays, he should be opening in the tests vs WI as well

I though that too- but I am worried about ruining his confidence. I'd rather he be fully equipped before exposing himself.

That would depend up on how management treats him. He should be told to not worry and use this as a learning experience

yes- easy to say prospectively. How many are calling for KLR's head now? Also depends on his personality and how he reacts to set backs.

Rahul is relatively far more experienced at international level .... not apples to apples

Throwing in new players in the middle of series does nothing good. But since the series is already over and we still lose no matter whom we select, might as well try Shaw. However if he fails miserably he shouldn't be called as hack or not prepared. Because only a freak batsmen can come and perform straightway in his debut series and that too in England.

Some people want Pant dropped too, despite 7 catches in his debut test.

Let any of the newbies fail even once ... and reactions can change drastically.

Pant should get the full series. We can't be slotting players based on the reactions, which are free

Reactions are not restricted to fans on cricket forums.

Top cricketers and journalists talk / write / tweet  similar things too.

And this puts unnecessary pressure on the young-uns ... and sometimes influences selections as captains and coaches read the same.
