Ankit_sharma03
Vijay, Washington return to TN squad for Vijay Hazare Murali Vijay and Washington Sundar, on Monday (October 1), were included in Tamil Nadu's squad for the ongoing Vijay Hazare Trophy to bolster their chances for a place in the quarterfinals. The duo replaces C Hari Nishanth and Yo Mahesh from the squad. Vijay, who has been overlooked for India's Test squad for the series against West Indies, was playing for Essex after being dropped mid-way through the England tour. He scored three fifties and a century in five first-class innings for Essex. Washington Sundar has been out of action since late June after having suffered an ankle injury during training with the Indian team. He had played his last competitive game on May 1, an IPL match for RCB. Hari Nishanth, who was in the original squad, did not get to play a single game. Mahesh, who came into the squad as a replacement for K Vignesh, has been ruled out due to injury. Tamil Nadu have won four out of their six league games so far. And with only three more matches remaining, they find themselves in a difficult position to make it to the quarterfinals.
