We need 3 specialist pacers in England and Hardik cannot be one of them.

Bumrah, Khaleel and Bhuvi maybe ideal if they keep performing.

Hardik at 6.

Krunal / Jadeja / Sundar / Gowtham at 7.

Kuldeep at 8.

Hardik at 6 means 6 bowlers - which has never happened in Indian cricket history as far as I can remember.

It looks like Jadhav will play at 6

The combinations for 7-11 are :

  • Hardik, Kuldeep, Chahal, Bhuvi, Bumrah (our combination for the last few months)
  • Jadeja, Kuldeep, Chahal, Bhuvi Bumrah (unlikely. 4 spinners including Jadhav)
  • Jadeja, Kuldeep, Khaleel, Bhuvi, Bumrah
  • Hardik, Jadeja, Kuldeep, Bhuvi, Bumrah

Third and fourth are exciting combinations.. 3 gives bowling depth, 4 gives batting depth..

We should use one of these two based on conditions.

You suggestion is probably to use option 3 + Hardik at 6.. which is looks impressive too, but is way too aggressive for our team management

didnt he bowl in CT 2017 and failed to get wkts

whats the point of selecting him on basis of subcotinent , he was always good here ...by that logic he shud hve never been dropped

Didn’t he win you 2013 CT ?

have an open mind he might have worked during break. He did get runs in the only test he played at England.

This team management is very dumb. Never seen such meek team management so devoid ideas.

rules were a lil diff back then, fingers spinners were doing well in the game now wrist spinners are doing well

2013 men to sir dhoni bhi bht achi batting krta, tab ks soch ke faida

he can be a good 3rd spinner, 1st two have to be wkt taking

Also have the facts rights, he was always good in subcontinent ....n he performed in one last day also ...on what basis are we planning to take him to england.

Even when he was dropped i said have him in options as backup but not as main spinners and thats where he shud be

With every passing game my confidence in Chahal dips hence we need Jaddu to do well, even if as a 3rd option. So close we WC if we have to look out for spinner we just have to go back to ashwin.

Ideally shreyas gopal or markande should have been picked instead of chahal But the train has left the station now.  I don't trust chahal at all .

The TM is perhaps trying jaddu but kohli wont drop his rcb buddy that easily .

Won't mind jadeja replacing chahal as the 2nd spinner if he shows signs of improvement in the bowling department though he was bang average in odis for the last 2 years .

For wc in England it's imperative we go with 3 pacers and pandya as the fourth pacer with kuly being the lone spinner and maybe some fillers from kedar in the middle overs if needed

A good outing against Bangladesh and suddenly Jadeja a discard is up for reconsideration. After that CT performance and series following them it's obvious wrist spinners are better choices than finger spinners atleast in shorter format of the game. Let's stick to it for some time.

Regarding Pandya Vs Jadeja : Dont think extra spinner is required in England. Besides in batting I would choose Pandya over Jadeja 10/10 times. So its really no comparison. Pandya wins comfortably.

Jadeja has played 5 world cups. Out of the 5,in 3 world cups we didn’t even make it past super six. As a matter of fact, we lost all 9 games in those supersixes. In other 2 world cups, we didn’t make past semifinals.

One Player who batted at 7, bowled his 10 overs, in 5 workcups and still didn’t make it.  Do we really want to take this garbage with us.

Yes, Pandya surely wins over Jadeja

The only consideration is Jadeja over Axar as the third spinner and possible conditions where he can be handy as the 2nd spinner too. He’s surely not a No 6 or 7 bat
