It’s a crime that after winning the man of the match in our first T20 and being a key member of T20 2007 he missed out so many games in this format  we could have atleast won one more WT20

Kkr management were not fools when they made him the captain( though looking at Starc bowl today I must say they fluffed it )

 

The reason I like DK is he has a calm head. Just look at his innings. When he came to bat he played 3 dot balls,calmed himself. Pant on the other hand would have got restless. He took singles easily. Then hit two boundaries when needed the most.. one against Starc as well. See his T20 innings in IPL you will realise why he is such a valuable player. Except for the playoff he played brilliantly. So yes i am a big DK fan.

Not bad DK ...finding supporters within ICF.. I want him for WC. Without DK our middle order can crumble even against West Indies . Hope sanity prevails with team management and Kohli.

I wouldnt play DK in ODIs he just cant grasp the format and he isnt going to get you a 100. 

 

Better he plays in T20s id play him for sure in 2020.

We don't need a 100 . we need  run a ball 40s or 50s more consistently. Who can produce 100s out of The current crop. No one. Don't play DK as a pure bat. Play as a keeper or at least tell him that the spot is his till world cup. Constantly putting a knife behind his back is the root cause ..

 

Thank God we did not have. Kohli captaining in t20s for a while else we would not have been able to realize what DK brings to the table. 

 

He is one of the few proper bats within the country who can rotate strike apart from top 3. If you feel others are going to be better than that be my guest..

He has that classic touch of Rohit and play all around the wkt , only thing he needs to avoid playing across the wkt at the start of his inning that's where he is vulnerable, otherwise he is best keeper bat at this moment no doubt about it.

I agree the top 4 strike rotators in country are kohli,dk,rohit and dhawan. The other is raina who is out of the team.

Only on this forum they undervalue DK. Pant is good but with experience DK offers more.

People just don't want DK to succeed.

Do you know what happened in his personal life. Just google DK and Murli Vijay. It took 3 years of his career to bounce back. I agree he would have been better in last wc instead of Rahane.

Every hardcore cricket fan is aware of that. Not like he quit cricket after what happened. He was still doing well in domestics and IPL most seasons. It is his own fault that he failed to grab chances till recently. Even now he fluffed it in Tests. Even though deserves a longer rope in

odis.

He was the most secure looking batsman in first test when india was five down chasing. One bad shot ruined the test for india. He and Kohli with Pandya following could have won it. In Lords everybody flopped. Hell I would say if he got opportunities like midget rahane he would have done better. He is a better player of spin any day.

Dk should not bat before 7 in odis.seems to be at his best when it's only 50 60 balls. But we should try to capture his good form. Okayish, I would say. But pant has been horrible in coloured jersey.

Fluffed in tests .. one opportunity he fluffed. Second test was minefield . Doesn't even count.

 

As for other opportunities, I think he always had the 30s or 40s but couldn't get higher than that. He seems to be in a better frame of mind now. 

 

Let's not cloud DK 2.0 with 1.0 . He had personal problems and competing with MSD for a spot , who was the Steve jobs of Indian cricket for a while . It's not easy.

 

Just put yourself in DK's shoes . It's so tough to come out of the personal setback considering what happened and how open it was . It destroys life, but credit to DK to have come back really strong...

 

I think he merits a place in ODI squad and it would be India's loss if he is not selected for WC.
