He’s a non nonsense coach and will not sugarcoat things to him forcing him to work harder on his game. Pant needs a massive IPL again to somehow become part of the WC squad and no better person than Ponting to motivate him. On what he can achieve, 2 100s outside Asia in his 6-7 months as Test cricketer, 42 dismissals in debut season, other records for an Indian keeper. Couldn’t have asked for a better start.
