All the English guys who cried foul about spirit of cricket say it is a smart work lol Basically he was waiting for a few seconds until he lifts the foot to get back to original position. What are they going to say about this?

A technical question. How long the batsman has to be in that position before the ball becomes dead? lol Or is the keeper allowed to wait for eternity before he takes his feet off

Dhoni has done the same.

Once the wktkeeper has the ball in hand and the batsman is in ..the ball should be considered dead.

It should be called foaking or dhoning.

Nothing wrong with this , ball was still live , he had foot planted and chose to move it knowing wicketkeeper  had ball in his hand . 

No difference to say cover point  throwing in to stumps and hoping batsman jumps when it hits the wicket .

It's batsman job to keep something grounded .

When batsman goes for sweep and misses the ball, and when he wants to get up there is a good chance he will lift his foot momentarily. Basically lifting the foot will not be for a run. It will be to get back and get ready to face the next ball. Here is where my question comes in. How long he is allowed to wait?

Until the ball is deemed dead , his responsibility to make sure that the ball is dead . It's not about attempting to run its if out of crease , it was a stumping not a run out  .

I understand that. But let us say Keeper is not throwing the ball to bowler and waiting for eternity.

Umpires decide when a ball is dead .

In this case it was  still live because he was not in control of his body and deemed still in process of playing shot. The act of half falling over deemed it still alive . 

Every wicketkeeper in every country in internationals and first class cricket would have done this and have done it .

If anybody on here thinks that Dhoni or Pant would not have done this is living in cloud cuckoo land or just an Indian fan boy .

I don't see what's all the bashing is about. The ball was still in play, no one told him to be a smart a$$ and lift his leg up. Fair play if you ask me. See it in realtime, literally took about 2-3 second for the event.

It was an issue because of the hypocrisy that English experts showed.
