Impossible to win the WC with Indian team's balance

True especially when you have bhuvi in the other end who hardly picks wkts.

Shami is a must but that makes the batting an absolute 0 once you are 6 down. India are so heavily dependent on 4-5 world class players

Yep that's the point , the team is structured in such a way that you remove one piece there emerges a weakness in one department.

Let's see how Virat manages the team in this WC.

The selection should have been simple. We should have blooded genuine batters. I see no point in having bits and pieces players like jadhav and pandya playing together. We could have had one pure batsman and a hitter like Pant. Or just 2 genuine batsmen in these positions. And have shami playing as the 3rd seamer, the team is automatically balanced.

Pandya the batsman is key to this batting lineup there in lies the quandary

Replacing Pandya and Jadhav with 2 batsmen will leave the team with 4 bowlers.

Good luck with that.

Pandya is an as specialist batsman as Pant in LOIs.  Pandya is not our problem who can bat even at 6 and play as 6th bowler, but the problem is none of Kuldeep, Chahal, Bumrah, Shami can bat nor any upcoming young bowler whether pacer or spinner can bat in LOIs.   There is no one who can bat even like Rabada let alone Morris.

No you make the team more imbalanced that way and also  we don't have a great batsman waiting in wings who could play that no4 to no 6 spots.Pant while making the team stronger will make it more imbalanced.I don't like bits and pieces players but you cannot play with just five bowlers even if they are Glen Mcgraths.

Absolutely, that's the point but because neither of the wristys is a capable bat, Pandya is being used as 3rd seamer which is not ideal.

While I agree with you Pandya is not the problem to some extent but for this team Pandya the bowler is needed more than Pandya the batsman.Unless Pandya has ability to bat at no4/no5 he does not add anything in creating the balance.

He is well capable to bat at no.4 , he has batted there in Aus series as well. The problem is players who follow him who are hopelessly one dimensional

That's the challenge for all teams. To pick a XI with right balance. Every team has to make compromises.

India's USP is 2 wristies along with Bumrah. Their 3rd seamer will be a compromise. Aus has to do with Stoinis/Maxwell as the 5th/6th bowler.

Ideally if 2 of your 5 best bowlers can bat well, it solves the problem of balance.

You can play with 5 bowlers if they are really good. No need of 6th bowler.

Should have selected Saini,Ishant & Khaleel in place of Vijay,DK & Jadhav.

Currently, the pace department is completely dependent on Bumrah & Shami. And it's a long tournament.

Are you kidding me again  Australia series. That was played in India. If Pandya was capable of batting no4 in odis India would have won test series in England and SA.He is no6 or no7 in odis any higher he will be exposed.

Read my comment. I said we should have given chances to new batsmen earlier. To think that there are no real batsmen left in India, apart from the ones in this squad is preposterous. Kedhar adds nothing that a genuine batsman could have. Pandya could have been a makeshift bowler. But with 2 makeshift players, this team is imbalanced.

And I totally stick to my point. You stick to yours, I stick to mine. Now that Kohli is gone, lets see how these ' allrounders' fare as crucial pinch hitters.

That is good in theory, now a days it is impossible to play with just five bowlers who cannot bat.
