Ganguly isn't he holding some position in West Bengal cricket association.Instead of improving his state team and doing something useful there, why is he doing commentary .These guys have to decide if they want full time gigs in media then they shouldn't be holding any sort of positions paid or unpaid in IPL or BCCI.

Mark Waugh is/was Aussie selector and still did commentary.

Commentary is fine. I was more surprised to see him in the mentor role for Delhi this IPL.

I mean he is running Bengal cricket and he will travel with a rival team as their management  and  will play a game where the pitch etc   is under his administration. It’s all fked up

DC is not the rival of Bengal but KKR and he has nothing to do with KKR administration.  IPL team administration is not linked to state team administration.

:hmmmm2: so KKR and Dd are not rival teams in the IPL.

Rival doesn’t have to be ind vs Pak or Aus vs Eng, in a tournament setting every team is a rival.

KKR is not Bengal. KKR is owned by SRK.  Cricket association of Bengal only provides them their stadium for which they pay.

And that cricket stadium and pitch is run by Bengal cricket of which Ganguly is the president.

The guy making the pitch doesn’t report to SRK he reports to Ganguly

and Ganguly does not report to SRK.  What KKR does is not his concern. That is why Ganguly relaid the Eden pitch where KKR were previously successful with their spinners on a turner which it is not anymore.  He brought the soil from NZ to make it pace friendly in 2016.  If he was helping KKR, he would kept it as it used to be a spin heaven.

I think we are going way off tangent here because you are missing the point.

Firstly I am not saying Ganguly is a devious guy who helps or is helping  DD by manipulating the pitch with the help of the Kolkata pitch curator.

I am pointing out the conflict of interest here. You can easily do that if you want. A day before you can ask the pitch curator to leave grass and load your team with first bowlers or change combo accordingly because the curator reports to you and is your employee

I am not saying Gangly does that. I am saying due to the conflict someone like Ganguly can have a lot more access and information as the chief of the board and at the same time as a management of a different team.

What are we missing here?

i dont see any conflict of interest here because KKR and Bengal are two different entities.  KKR does not even have a single Bengal player.

Arrey bhai again the same thing   Ganguly may not give a fk about KKR, he has access to Bengal cricket resources, pitch, curator etc etc and if he wants “he can” manipulate the conditions to suit his team which is Delhi.

Nothing to do with KKR

Am I really not making sense :wall:

Two different entities, but they are related. If KKR doesn't play on Bengal association's stadiums, then what you're saying is acceptable. KKR uses Bengal's resources and Ganguly is a key decision maker in Bengal whereas has an advisory role in another IPL team. It doesn't get more straightforward than this.

but during IPL, pitch is under KKR administration and not Ganguly or CAB and pitches are made under BCCI curator observation.

Just because Aussies are doing it , it doesn’t become right. If the player wants to do commentary then he shouldn’t be working in any position in BCCi/IPL.

I am always for players earning more money. But this nonsense Sachin pulled stating he is not making any money from MI is wrong IMO.

It is plain stupid, IPL is franchise based and is private, commentary is a private gig, only conflict I see is if a commentator is a selector, if he is a ex cricketer and Administrator then it is not a conflict, why drive away our valuable resources and create Pakistan n Sl scenario where ex players dont want to get involved and people attached to cricket are nincompoops or politicians
