Shankar and jadav can't paly together ,they have to be played according to conditions.Pant has to replace one of them most probably Shankar.

And Shankar took 2 wickets vs Pak. His bowling when Bhuvi was injured was more important than Jadhav’s tuk tuk 50 which almost cost us the game.

The best replacement for shankar would be DK at 4. Other than that, the team should remain the same for the knockouts.

KL Rahul is still a test opener. I wouldn't mess with that. He has more chance of scoring as an opener. Pant or DK should come after Dhoni.

Pant is a certified hack and bottler of highest order as of now. I would love to have him if all the pitches in England are like Nottingham or Oval. But unfortunately for him it is not the case here. In these sluggish conditions you need to have accumulators in your team and not glorified sloggers and chokers.

I would like to give Shankar benefit of doubt. He has not played matches on roads like oval. On such sluggish pitches like old Trafford,I don't think DK and pant would have done any better.

 

Also I feel if your are tall and accurate bowler and know to ball slow cutters, you are even more effective than spinners in these conditions. Shaheen Afridi and now holder has already given a glimpse of that.

Just curious. What are your views about Dhoni? Is he playing slow? Is he putting so much pressure on other end costing them wickets?

Shankar gonna go same way - mind you I like Shankar . He looks solid . Just needs two IPLs and some confidence - that 6 feet 3 height is useless when ur four reaches slower to boundary than Jadhav !
