Pant is a very unfair drop . Kohli or Shastri have no business of dropping Pant.They both have to take blame for it. You cannot drop a 22 year old keeper who has been doing very well and had given no reason for him to be dropped.I don't understand what those two morons were thinking when they dropped Pant.Anything they say to cover it up is not going to fly.

They should have let Pant go and get another dummy like DK to be concussion replacment.Pant sitting on bench does not help Pant become better keeper.

 

No Nair should not have gotten chance ahead of Vihari, Nair was stinking up everywhere after he was dropped and Vihari averages 60 in FC and can bowl better than Nair so he had to come in.Vihari would not have sniffed a place if guys like Rahul and Vijay did their jobs half way decent.

 

Nair was not victim of anything other than him being a middle order player with no major bowling skill, he has to blame himself also., Yes he was dropped as they had to play just five batsman.

 

Other than Pant which is very wrong I don't see any other major blunder. Pant is the future and he cannot be handled like this. They are making the same mistake which SA did with Dekock in 2015.

today high level of consistancy  was clearly evident  w.r.t this dumb ass's absolute brainless captaincy . 8th wkt fell in the 27th over. Then Shami took the 9th wkt in the 60th over. In between, Shami bowled only 2 overs   out of the 33 overs !!!!!!  How about this for clueless captaincy??

The way he saved us from humiliation in those two tours is good enough to give him 20-30 matches even if he gets out on duck everytime.

You don't understand the context of the thread, do you? 

 

Pant has been dropped after he saved our *** in Eng and helped win series in Aus. So if he gets dropped based on couple of games after centuries in tough conditions, then why not Kohli set the same example?

 

If you seriously think the fans are asking for dropping Kohli, then you are not getting the point. This is about dropping players especially youngsters despite performing very well.

As much as I strongly dislike Kohli dropping Pant, Kuldeep etc.  ... just by performances, Kohli himself is undroppable from tests even if he uses his own tough yardstick.

 

Kohli averages a stupendous 70.5 in the last 2 years in tests with 9 centuries from just 21 tests.

 

And this period includes 3 tough SENA tours of SA, England and Australia.  And he was the highest scorer from either side in both SA and England in really tough batting conditions.

We need to get Shaw and gill into this test team, kohli is a star as much as i dislike him as captain. Rohit has taken his chance for now but drop rahane, the guy shouldn't play for india in any format.  Rahul only t20. Rahane for gill is needed asap or any upcoming player.

That's exactly what i want...unfortunately kohli and shastri are a bunch of idiots so i haven't watched the game too closely. We are winning because of talent but not due to their decisions. One day in a tough game overseas we could suffer just like the number 4 spot at the world cup haunted us. Idiots. 

 Shaw's ban, shastri took advantage of. Now we have to let Rohit open until/If he fails. Grooming players could have helped india for next decade, there is serious talent in india but playing old friends until they retire is pathetic. Rahane just playing for middle scores now to keep his place.

much as I love chepu in tests, his creaking knees will not stand up for long. we need to start looking for a gritty blocker - a breed of batsman that has become super rare. I was initially a fan of bawne, but he has flattered to deceive. My XI would be as follows in the future:

 

(1) Mayank (2) Shaw, (3) Vihari, (4) Kohli, (5) Gill, (6) Pant, (7) Jaddu, (8) Ashwin/Hardik, (9) Ishant, (10) Bumrah, (11) Shami

 

team bats till 8, and I am comfortable enough with pant at 6 and jaddu at 7. if we need 6 batsmen, I would rather have vihari at 3 and search for a lower middle order expert at 6.
