Has to be a contest between Md Azharuddin and Eknath Solkar. 

 

Azhar was great in any fielding position, unlike Rhodes was the best Point fielder, but was average or below average in other positions. He was a very poor slip fielder.

 

Solkar because of his fast reactions and guts.

I have seen Pandey pull of some stunners at the boundary. While Hardik is a supreme athlete and a very good fielder, I have seen more stunning displays from Pandey to be honest.

He was electric. But Azhar has been a class apart. I personally saw him around 87-88 in a local match in which he took a stunning catch at the boundary. he used the technique of jumping, throwing the ball off the in the air, landing on the boundary and catching it again after coming in. That was electric for a time when this was unheard of!

They were all just as good as any of the good fielders of today. Azhar, I rate a bit better. I would also rate Robin Singh very high. No less than our best fielders of today.

Jadeja Ajay and robin formed a very strong fielding unit . Robin and Ajay were just a notch below r jadeja 

 

I agree that kaif , Raina , yuvi etc we’re good but above 3 I have seen and they have been the best in my opinion last 30 years in Asia . 
 

azar  did not have a great arm but just was aesthetically pleasing and a v good slip catcher 

 

solkar was a great close in fielder but not a great outfielder . 
 

pandey is v v good but not played enuf odi ... or t20 

 

agree with Mahabama and upul chandana 

 

 

agree with Jayawardane and laxman dravid as best slip catching with azar in the mix 

 

kapil was a safe fielder I would say 

 

pandya good too

Pandey and Pandya similar in outfield. Pandya has a better throwing arm.

Jadeja might be an avg player but fielding wise TOP NOTCH. Don't think I've seen any other asian counterpart field like he does.

Jadeja isn't an average player. One of the best test bowler in our history is average player for you? He is a top test alrounder at this point, averaging 45 plus in last three years.

Not only is he a safe catcher but the frequency with which he produces those runouts is amazing.

Meh, I don't consider him a match winner as a batsmen. Excellent bowler (today) - however listed as an all-rounder.

azhar was, IMO, the best AR fielder that Ind has. excellent slip field, close-in catcher, point/covers, and outfielding. a pity that he was a fixer.

I will choose Jaddu as the greatest outfielder out of this lot, he is among the best of all time there. If he can prove himself in slip cordon and FSL/SP/LS he will be my GOAT AR fielder above that fixer Azhar. 

same here ... all the above names have been brilliant fielders, but R.Jadeja  tops every one because  of his deadly accurate pick & throw   run outs .
