Yuvraj singh showed grit in his very first odi. It was a stunning performance against a great australian side. Rahul is yet to play one back behind the wall type of innings in odi. In my view, after kohli and rohit got out, he should have taken some responsibility and should have left a ball that was well outside off. He was a bundle of nerves. We can consider him from t20, odi , i don't know.

ANd after that he struggled like no one , he was the worst player of spin bowling

ur telling me a guy who can scores in Aus, ENG, WI cant score in international

 

No one scores same time, some start well some start late...didnt yuvi also fall behind. Even pant hasnt played any knock in ODI but still get backed n it doesnt mean he has no talent

Pant is a wicketkeeper, a specialist position. There is way more competition for rahul's place. Its the sad truth. His international career has never taken full flight, part of it due to selection policy also. But matches like today and others, you have to score a ton of runs and shut your critics. Pant has also been given a longer rope, that i agree. But for odi 1-4 positions, rahul is facing stiff competition and failures in match will count against him. Its been 5 years since his debut.
