randomGuy Posted December 23, 2019 Posted December 23, 2019 By strong state leader, I mean someone who doesn't sing praises of Modi, takes onus of the developmental work, and focuses largely on state issues. Probably Modi likes to hear his praises but he must encourage state centric leaders whose speeches must have nothing to with Modi and even no mention of Modi for state elections. Gollum and mishra 2

Free bijli water directly benefits 100%, free DTC buses for women directly benefits 50% populace... many people will fall for this.

Yes, Asking vote in name of Modi is not going to work in state elections. But BJP must find a way to put right leaders who can turn it around. as @Singh bling posted. Whoever is doing state elections Mathematics, He is really very poor. Going into a alliance and winning aroud 40+- seats while ally gets 5-15 seats is always better than fielding your own family and friends as candidates. Winning requires ruthlessness randomGuy 1
coffee_rules Posted December 23, 2019 Posted December 23, 2019 Caste is king in state elections. Anti-incumbency a huge factor. Maharashtra hurts BJP the most.

Fadnavis? Before 2014 people hadn't even heard of him. Planted leader. Not saying that his tenure was particularly bad, but I don't think anyone sees him as a grass root leader.
adi B Posted December 23, 2019 Posted December 23, 2019 Who are selecting these state leaders? They are mostly yes man and nothing more ,I know BJP provides a less corrupt regime in comparison to the other parties but that is not the only point on which you can bank to win elections. BJP should have given AJSU around 15 seats ( they were demanding 18 ,they dont deserve even 12 I'd say) ,they would have definitely formed the government. Modi -Shah needs to realise they ain't gonna win elections without state leaders or blanketing local issues, it should have been clear by now ! Laaloo and mishra 2
