Ankit_sharma03 Posted January 11, 2020 Posted January 11, 2020 (edited) Happy that he is on radar shud always be for Long format even not bad for ODIs but replacing shaw doesnt seem right Edited January 11, 2020 by Ankit_sharma03
Ankit_sharma03 Posted January 11, 2020 Author Posted January 11, 2020 Looks like indian team wants a seaming all rounder in squad for nz series and hardik wnt reach that fitness level. Shankar was excellent with bat last A- tour to Nz
jf1gp_1 Posted January 11, 2020 Posted January 11, 2020 I am glad they picked Shankar. Yes Dube made the most of opportunities he got but to me Shankar appeared smarter bowler and definitely better batsman.

Not suited for t20 Bowling - not much of diff apart from experience which shankar after playing years in domestic tweaker 1
sandeep Posted January 11, 2020 Posted January 11, 2020 If NZ can use Colin as a test regular in home conditions, Shankar compares very favorably to him. sandsaims, Ankit_sharma03 and Cricwala 1 2

Ankit_sharma03 Posted January 11, 2020 Author Posted January 11, 2020 Correction Vijay shankar has replaced Hardik pandya not Prithvi shaw
cowboysfan Posted January 11, 2020 Posted January 11, 2020 they rushed him back too soon,i dont think Shankars bowling is good enough though. Suhaan 1

Ankit_sharma03 Posted January 11, 2020 Author Posted January 11, 2020 Whatever dont rush him , India cannot loose Bumrah n Pandya for LOI at any cost
Ankit_sharma03 Posted January 11, 2020 Author Posted January 11, 2020 If Pandya doesnt play in NZ it ll mean jadhav career will be extended
ShoonyaSifar Posted January 11, 2020 Posted January 11, 2020 Why exactly would you replace a specialist batsman with a batting all rounder who has hardly done anything of note with the ball in FC cricket. He has been in pathetic form recently in Ranji Trophy but again gets unjust reward (like his WC selection).

How else u explain that a player who wasnt trusted in wc and has no future is in line up. Dube batting might work on those mini grounds in NZ....but hardik injury might give him a life in t20 where he was about to be dropped.

Coz these are the only seaming all rounder avl And shankar was excellent last Nz a tour n made runs when given a chance for national team to They wud be looking at him as seaming all rounder for test in squad since pandya wnt reach that fitness.

Shankar is NOT an all rounder in FC cricket. As a specialist middle order batsman, Ankit Bawne, Mandeep, An,olpreet or Manish Pandey have better claim than Shankar. diehardpacer 1
vvvslaxman Posted January 12, 2020 Posted January 12, 2020 Will this Pandya guy ever play again? or just IPL? It is almost like we are at Pandya's mercy not the other way around. While guys like Rahul are still not sure of his position in the starting XI, Pandya will walk right back into the side with no competition. As much as we think he is indispensable, expectation should be high for this guy. He flunked in the world cup at a crucial stage.

Top 3 delivered in several earlier matches. Only difference is these guys are available to play even after the world cup. If they wifail l they could get kicked out. But Pandya can come in whenever he wants, he can take rest whenever he wants. Nobody is going to do anything Edited January 12, 2020 by vvvslaxman
