KL Rahul statement at post-match press conference:

"I've always opened the batting so that's the order I'm most comfortable in and I know how to build my innings."

He's obviously doing what the team wants him to but even in the post-match interview he didn't sound too pleased about having to bat at 5. Won't be surprised if they change his position again after a couple of not so good games.

I am questioning Rshul's practical thought process here.

 

It is better to play and bat at 4 or 5 than warm the benches in ODIs.
