Progress of Pakistan cricket with Imran Khan as PM

Needless to say, he gave a lot of lip service from the sidelines on what should be done to improve Pak cricket, when he was not PM.

 

He was bragging about the " capabilities of Pak people" at a recent event based on how they used to regularly beat a " 7 times bigger"  country like India  ( how's that for exaggeration....as if India fields 77 players ) in cricket in the 80's.  That was when Indian cricket was the biggest underachiever in international sport.

 

It is immaterial that this country of 200 million "highly capable" people  cannot make even a home grown car and ha regressed from being an American tampon to a Chinese toilet roll.

1.5 + years into being PM, Pak cricket is becoming shittier by the day.

 

WOnder why former Pak cricketers/ now youtubers don't utter a single word on the state of Pak cricket after Imran as PM  and his broken promises..

Pakistan cricket is being screwed over by Imran's obsesion with copying "Australian" system.  Greenbros and their gora complex is so utterly predictable.  

 

PCB is using the excuse of Imran's preferences, and "improving competition" to reduce Pakistani domestic cricket player pool by 50%.  This sort of system fukkk-up will only serve to reduce motivation for people to pursue cricket as a career in Pakistan.

He is dumb, selfish and incompetent. 

 

I don't know what will be our future as a nation with a joker like him as PM. From economic issues like unemployment to cricket, he is ripping everything apart whatever little we had.

Likes of Shahid Khaqan Abbassi, Saad Rafique etc. are very committed individuals who have worked hard to overcome issues such as energy.

 

E-35 Expressway was flagship project of PML-N and work over other motorways kicked off during their tenure, today you can travel through controlled access motorways all the way from Sukkur till Abbottabad. Lahore-Sialkot (Major industrial city located alongside Wazirabad & Gujranwala) Motorway also kicked off during their tenure. 

 

Security improved drastically during their time, they introduced concept of intelligence & monitoring with safe city cameras in major cities. 

 

Sharifs are democratic and usually good with administration as well, they know how things work/dynamics. They also encouraged start-up culture through stability and reforms. 

 

Imran is a nobody apart from his three decade old cricket heroics. PTI even after years could not complete peshawar metro bus project which till date is in shambles whereas PML-N introduced metro bus in Multan, Lahore & Rawalpindi/ISB.

I agree in principle that you have to narrow down the top level teams to focus on elite players better. 6 top level teams are the right number for Pakistan . At any given point of time the top 100 odd cricketers in your set up should be playing in this group. 

 

However this is clearly not enough. So you need multiple divisions of these regional teams. E. G. Tier 1, 2 and 3 with players being promoted and demoted between these divisions based on merit and performance. With just 6 teams and a narrow talent pool, selection, promotion and demotion all have to be done on merit. You can't have players just entering these teams based on recommendation and connections as that would totally defeat the purpose. 

 

Also in a developing country, cricket has to be a source of livelihood. So they could have kept the existing departmental squads and offered jobs to the regional team cricketers so they have a steady source of income.

 

This is where Pakistan's current system is at fault. You cannot expect a non international cricketer to be paid only based on contract without an assured salary. It makes cricket an unstable source of income which would deter players from pursuing the sport.

Imran is a self boasting shameless  oppertunist .Nothing else.We all witnessed his  gimmics during  the amendment of those 2 laws which were matters of pure Indian internal matters.He proved he is no different from past  Pakistani leaders who all were  mere tools of the military.Despite him being a chronic ball tamperor, he has no shame in boasting about himself.

 

If Pakistan cricket improves ,I would say it happend despite Imran not because of Imran.
