Third seamer is the concern now. Avesh looked pedestrian.

Yes, but we must keep playing him for another game or two. Every bowler is likely to get better after first outing and we must bank on that to get him better. Disappointed with his fitness though. I don't  want to go to Ishant and Mohit back yet. Give proper chance to Avesh but he did look pedestrian tonight.

Ishant is injured. So if they want, they can replace Ishant with Kuldeep Sen. But it won't really happen. Really want to see him play at the highest level soon. Probably has the best bowling action and run-up among Indian fast bowlers.

As pitches start seeing wear and tear, might not be a bad idea to have 3 spinners in the XI. All bring something new to the table: offie, leggie, SLA. We already have two good quicks in Rabada and Nortje.

Also keep rotating the bowlers so that everyone is injury free and fresh in latter stages of the tourney.

We have all bases covered:

Best Indian batting core among all teams, not hacks....have firepower and can destroy pace/spin

Most players in their prime, in their 20s

Good mix of youth/experience

Calm captain who also seems to be flexible, driven coach in Ponting

Best keeper bat

Good spin resources...with variety

2 gun quicks

With Stoinis, we have 6 bowling options

Bat deep, with Ashwin/Rabada/Mishra at 8/9/10

Maybe Carey comes in place of Hetmyer if the latter doesn't click.

Have to finish in top 2.

Didn't see the match, but based on the scorecard it looks like I didn't miss much.  Apparently Rabada was his usual brilliant self but most of the others let us down - again, just going by the scorecard.

Oh well, can't win them all.  Get 'em next time guys.

Dilli roar machcha !!!!

Great match, proper order is restored with the good guys at the top of the table.  Glad to get a win at the Sharjah Driving Range against a powerful hitting opponent.

Wow, what a thorough ass-whipping that was.  We beat RCB like they owed us money.

It's pretty clear so far that DC and MI are in a class above the rest of the team.  MI may have a slight edge on overall consistency, but we can match up quite well against them.  With our bowling attack we should be able to contend in every match and just need average batting to win most matches.

Terrific win to go back to the top of the table.  Once again, great bowling beats great batting.  This bowling attack should continue to give us a chance in every match.  Loved seeing some great fielding as well.

Biggest match of the tournament is Sunday against Mumbai.
