zen
M1 CSK: Dhoni Fitness: looked fitter post the COVID break Captaincy: pretty good overall esp. considering the start by QdK DRS: fail (but could be Pandya's effect) Keeping: nothing to fault Batting: came lower down the order than usual but remained unbeaten Toss: Won. Correct decision to bowl first Score: A .... Need to see how his batting form is MI: Rohit Fitness: no comments as the picture is worth a 1000 words Captaincy: poor esp. the use of spinners with dew on and Rayudu playing freely DRS: fail esp. with Vijay's LBW Fielding: did not observe much but could have made a better attempt to take one of the catches while running back Batting: fail Toss: N/A Score: F .... If he does not bat well (apart from 2-3 decent knocks), MI could be playing with 10 players + poor captain PS I may not be watching every game so feel free to add your observations of other games! G_B_
I think rohit was rusty with his captaincy. But the mi fielding did not help either Personal fitness...well...
zen
M2 DC: Iyer Fitness: nothing to complain Captaincy: nothing stood out by the book stuff but had to adjust for Ashwin's overs DRS: did not observe Keeping/fielding: Dropped Agarwal's catch so helped K11 tie the game (captains are judged at a higher standard) Batting: Pass. Helped DC recover Toss: N/A Score: B+ .... lost points for dropping a catch at crucial juncture (higher standards for captains as Steve Waugh would say "you dropped the ...., son") but gained points for batting well in crisis K11: KL Fitness: nothing to complain Captaincy: nothing stood out by the book stuff DRS: did not observe Keeping/fielding: did his job Batting: Fail .... twice including in superover Toss: Won. Elected to field Score: F .... loses big points for not only a) failing with the bat twice, but also b) horrendous decision of not opening with Agarwal, the man in form, in superover - effectively costing K11 the game Edited September 20, 2020 by zen

GeeGaw
Without knowing what conversations took place between Argawal and KLR prior to the super over I don't think you can necessarily knock him for that. I'm sure he asked Argawal if he was up to it, but maybe the guy was flat wore out after batting the entire innings? KLR may not have had that option available to him. nevada
sscomp32
match 1: One thing i liked about MS is he used the matchup strategy mi has used so successfully for last years against MI itself. He didn't go with instinct or captain should lead from the front theory. Instead he sent lefty vs SLA and saved himself from bumrah . Bumrah always gets the better of him. I believe against SRH he will come out earlier and destroy the knuckleball merchants since they somehow lose the plot against MS. Good to see this calculation and not just instincts. Many people called it instincts and genius captaincy but i call it matchup based play. If sam does well MS will turn him into albie 2.0 MI were extremely rusty. Hopefully i am wrong but they looked lost already because of that even year / uae factor. New guy
sscomp32
Match 2 was rookie error from kl which shreyas didn't . keeping the pressure on and bowling your wicket takers even after powerplay. KL bowled gowtham in 7th releasing pressure but Shreyas bowled Rabada. Long shot but shreyas should be in contention to leading us in 2023. Koach is in whiteball and Rohit does not look serious about fitness. Also the super over mess but it was KL's first match.
