Subjective,

The name I mentioned ,which I found he did gave many shades of his acting skills in one movie

We are not talking of his good performances. We are talking of deserving a National Award! But, then,  It lost its value after Anil  Kapoor was awarded for Pukar, Saif for Hum Tum etc

Or Allu Arjun for Pushpa :p:

Can't believe Kay Kay Menon hasn't got it yet. Possibly best actor in the country

AA is not like other commercial heroes

He is a decent enough actor, puts in full throttle as per directors wish, dances like a dream.

His role in pushpa might not be a award winning one. But a good one nevertheless.

Tell me, how many star heroes are ready to look like ugly dehats for roles. I can count them on fingers. Only Dhanush comes to my mind. AA did the same in Pushpa.

Also ICFers seem to hate the masala cinema. The hero there has to do action, sentiment, comedy, dance and romance. It is not a small task at all.

No problem with AA getting it. But SRK is basically the same.

Also the award for best film went to Alia-Ranbir film. The awards don't mean anything in terms of certifying quality

It got best popular film, not the best film. Best Hindi film went to Kathal.

just watched saiyaara - it was almost sold out, people are raving about it. what's going on?! i almost walked out half way it was so bad

Watched it on IPTV - good print. In 2 sittings. It held its moments with some honest writing, direction and acting by male lead. Like the 1970 Love Story American movie. Liked it, nothing cringe . Female lead was told not to emote and she did just that. She was not even moving her lips while talking , like a mannequin

fair enough. cringe can be acceptable and even desirable but when there's barely a story, or the film doesn't flow, or the director shoves too many disjointed side plots without developing them, that same cringe lets the film down. 3/10 for me
