Don't think Sarfaraz has played for India A.

bowlers only mature with age. Look at Saini for example. Was raw in the Mavi Nagarkotti mould but look at him evolve

You are right indian fast bowlers need time to develop as most of them are hard working professionals not prodigies.

I was just saying that they will get smothered bgy th bdeshis if they face them now

  1. Shaw
  2. Devdutt
  3. Gill
  4. Pant
  5. Kishen
  6. Abhishek sharma
  7. Washington sundar
  8. Rahul chahar
  9. Mavi
  10. Nagarkotti
  11. Kartik tyagi

Extra

  • Yashaswi jaiswal
  • Ishan porel
  • Riyan parag
  • Abdul Samad
  • Bishnoi
  • Sarfraz

Shaw, Gill, Pant and Sundar are way too good for the u23 level and should not be included in this team. They are all Indian National Cricketers now and have graduated to the next step.

They should be replaced by Anmolpreet Singh, Ricky Bhui, Himmat Singh and Anukul Roy

BCCI should ideally organise Challenger Trophy of sorts immediately after IPL.

I think our junior teams can compete & even beat our senior team in T20 on a given day.

A three match T20 series in UAE will be ideal before Australia tour.

India Junior XI:

Paddikal/Shaw

Agarwal

Gill

Samson

Kishan

Rana

Dube

Rahul Chahar

Mavi

Nagarkotti

Natarajan

Reserves: Prasidh,  Rituraj,  Samad, Porel,  Bishnoi Sarfaraz

India Senior likely would be:

Rahul

Rohit

Virat

Iyer

Manish

Pandya

Washington/Ashwin

Jadeja

Shami

Saini

Bumrah

I think it would be cracker of a 3 match series.  BCCI need to bring back some kind of challenger trophy

Really? You are talking about taking on say WI team? I don’t think so. One or two can excel , but an entire team taking on a fulle fledged international team is a bit far-fetched. You base it on their U19 play and IPL. Domestics , yes some have done good, but everybody with a bit of talent can do well. We need to focus on mental seasoning for international play which they lack

the senior team is weak in the middle order.Iyer,Manish and Pandya cant score well against good fast bowling.i think the juniors have the edge in the batting department.

again the words are run for their money and yes they can to even WI in odi not t20, in t20 WI is a top side

Many international sides dont have same quality anymore and ur fogetting this lineup has gill, shaw, pant, sundar who have been in national team.

These player go on India A tour and beat teams in their own back yard and those A sides have senior players

  • pakistan plays outdated cricket
  • bang doesnt have venom in bowling
  • SL is trash
  • SA batting isnt great anymore, bowling also is a one man show who under pressure hold himself
  • WI can explode anytime and the reason they aint that good in ODI is middle over problem of strike rotation.

They all cud be given a run for their money , they may fall short due to experience but ODI cricket is about that particular day when anyone can runaway with the game and this side is filled with match winners

They seem to be our first choice though..  That's why we need some kind of matches to determine who are the best for what position.

Quality , run for the money are all fancy words. But the ideal q is can they replace national team players and win is the elusive ICC trophy that we have not won since 2013. Rohit and Rat for all their hype has failed in the crucial stages in SFs and Fs after that event. IPL is going on and we all get excited wihen a Padikkal takes on Rabada. But we are far from being a No. 1 team. Even a NZ team can beat us in their conditions or in UK

i have a different theory - captains win tournament ....

Rohit n rat have performed under dhoni in 2007 t20 wc n 2013 ct final, kohli in all t20 Wcs

its also just not about big trophy, if they become good cricketers and keeps the winning ratio thats also a lot. Remember SA n Nz didnt win trophy but were considered good teams.

If your captain knows how to win tournament and other factors fall in place they ll win cups .

To become no.1 team we need a cultural mindset shift, we still play conservative cricket....champions play attacking cricket

I am from old school, believe that the captain is as good as the team and bowlers win matches. For ICC events we need tough bowlers like BUmrah, Saini and let’s pick bowlers who can win matches. 2017 T20 WC could’ve been won if we had another quality pace bowler apart from Bumrah

Captain is as good as a team but a captain shud also be able to utilize his resources to fullest.

Dhoni won CT 2013 with a much worse team then we had in 2017 which lost to pakistan a very below avg team

SA always had a good bowling attack, pakistan for longest time was better then us yet we defeated them in Wc games...reason nerves

The reason we loose pressure games under kohli or even ganguly coz their nerves take on them during these situation and they panic. When captain panic team cant win which is why i made that body language thread. Check kohli body lang in 2017 CT on 2019 Wc, its full of nervous energy and that will always had a negative impact on team. Same was with ganguly to. Thats why we will never win under kohli but same team will have higher chances of winning under rohit.

Same team same resources but it also depends on how captain uses it

I want to see bishnoi for few season, once his novelty wears off

Markhande looked great but now no were

Remeber chawla who was troubling sachin then found out

I like bishnoi , he reminds me of tahir but few season for him

Rahul chahar acc to me is the best young spinner in terms of talent in country , no one comes close. He also can hold bat and is a really good fielder

Like Chawla, Bishnoi also bowls mostly googlies. I wonder why a leg spinner wouldn't use the classic legbreak.
