coffee_rules
Trump broke the overrated legacy of the US Presidency. People believe it is as something that no ordinary man can get to, unless they have some X factor. When Sarah Palin was nominated as a VP candidate, she was not showing any great intellect and I have heard many of my office Republicans saying that she is so down to earth with her folksy words, that they can relate to her more than elite presidential candidates. I was surprised that how could anybody vote for her. Of course, Trump is a bit smarter than her, but I have heard people say that same thing about him. He doesn't use any fancy words , not known for oratory skills, proved that anybody could be backed to be a president of US. Everything that the president does is controlled by special interests, corporates or somethings that profits only a few. They said conservatives were good for economy, less spending and more that reaches people. But Bush went to war and there went that pipe dream. At least Trump pulled out of some wars, but still not good at handling trade deficits and the fiscal budget ballooned in his term. His last two years with the Dem house, he could not do a thing, but monkeying around on Twitter to grad eyeballs on both sides of the aisle. All is left for aam aadmis is to rave about how great Clinton/Obama spoke, and mock at the idiotic statements given out by Trump. BacktoCricaddict
The US needs to stop saying things like: (1) Our President is the leader of the free world. (2) Our President is the most powerful man in the world. (3) Our country is the greatest nation in the history of the world. World War II happened 80 years ago. Get over it. But tell me which “liberal” politician has managed to bring together normalcy between Israel and Arab world? Products made in Israel were till now banned in UAE. If I’d to send any item to UAE, I’d have to submit documents to declare the origin of the product confirming no Israel manufactured items. All Liberals can do is Bakchodi and protest marches. Liberals are the biggest Fascists and War mongers. All they care is about only one peaceful religion which is causing havoc all over the World. These 2 faced Liberals are absolutely silent about the Chinese atrocities on Uighur community in Xinjiang province. They’ll never take out protest marches for that cause. If these Liberals and Democrats are so concerned about human rights, will Biden regime make it a point to take up the cause of Uighurs and pressurise China on International forums? One of GWB's "positive" attributes was that "he would be great to have a beer with." Am like "$hit, that's like 10 of my buddies and none of them should be President of their own house let alone of 330 million people." Who the eff cares? Can s/he improve the economy? Keep peace? Keep outside forces from destroying the country? Can they stay calm when excrement hits the fan blades? Not whether they can tell jokes at a bar table. Gollum
Hahahahahaha, imagine the reaction when they see someone named Stalin addressing her....need to give PJW a call. DMK chief Stalin writes to Kamala Harris in Tamil, recalls her links to Tamil Nadu DMK president M K Stalin on Monday wrote to US vice-president elect Kamala Harris in Tamil recalling her links to Tamil Nadu and expressed confidence that she would bring more laurels to America during her tenure. Wishing and greeting her with ‘Vanakkam,’ Stalin said it was a matter of pride for the state’s people that America’s first woman vice-president has a link to Tamil Nadu as her mother hailed from the state. He said he chose to write in Tamil since it would bring more happiness to her, the mother tongue of her mother Shymala Gopalan Harris. Her victory has given the Dravidian movement a sense of confidence, which believed in an egalitarian society and gender equality, he said in the letter, a copy of which was also posted on his Facebook page. The DMK chief said Harris’s victory through hard work and her outlook has proved that a woman with Tamil roots is qualified to govern even the United States of America. “Let your tenure bring more laurels to America and herald the pride of Tamil heritage to the world,” he said adding Tamil Nadu looked forward to her visit. He expressed his happiness over her election and lauded her for her victory. Kamala Harris’s mother Shyamala Gopalan’s family hails from Thulasenthirapuram and Painganadu in Tamil Nadu’s Tiruvarur District. The ancestral villages of Kamala Harris on Sunday erupted in joy over the Democrat Senator’s elevation and ushered in an early Deepavali with firecrackers and sweets to celebrate her win. asterix, velu, Laaloo and 1 other

Is there a term to describe this phenomenon where one uses some remote, irrelevant connection with a person to then bask in their glory? Mooching? All my Tamizh Iyer relatives are going so gaga over Kamala, it's nauseating. The only thing that links us to her is some unrecognizable, tenuous, ancestral connection. For example, if one of my students becomes President, I can take vicarious pleasure in that because I was a small part of their journey. But, reaching for that connection via religion, caste, nationality etc. We do it too for entertainment - like supporting KL Rahul and Mayank Agarwal because they happened to grow up in the same town as I did - but the stakes are low when it is for entertainment. This is different.

I have a feeling 2024 will not be as easy win as it was in 2014 and 2019 for BJP. Gut feel. Imagine if the elections were this year!!!!! Boy...bjp would have got a proper drubbing. That will be welcomed. The "unholy alliance" of the far left and far right (Islamists) should be out open. India & Modi will counter-gain for it. And the intolerance, and witch hunting of the radicals have started since last week. That is the fascism.
