I still believe U.S has most transparent system in votes. Having followed Indian elections int he past, it s a chaos, you never know who is winning ever.

Now it is better, TN Seshan was the guy who changed the way EC functions. We owe so much to that great man.

Not saying it is perfect, but considering the myriad of challenges we face EC does a damn good job. Now EC is training poll officials from many African and other 3rd world countries.

Still have faith that Biden won't be useless. Macron was similar 2 years back (his win hailed even more by libbu clowns)...then went on boat ride in India with 2 gentlemen, now he is a lion.

Narendra Modi, Yogi Adityanath and France President Macron boating in Ganga River, Varansi. - YouTube

Biden should follow that example. Two excellent teachers in India....just saying.

Macron was/is still young enough to listen to wisdom.

Biden is so mentally gone that he spends his days sniffing children's hair.

@Cricketics Forget Kashmir, Naxal areas, NE, Bengal, remote mountains etc.... (btw do you have any idea how many companies of paramilitary forces are deployed, mobilizing them, co-ordination, arranging for their stay, so many factors that EC must plan/implement)

Look at this story

When Election Commission set up a polling booth for Gir Forest's only resident

Deep inside the forest for just one voter, and the poll officials stayed there (cut away from humanity) till 6 pm (as per EC's own rule book).

The hard work they put in, pains/struggle/sacrifice, so many volunteers (all those govt school teachers involved in some capacity).

YET we have so many rascal Indian citizens who refuse to make a 500m distance trip to the booth. Selfish, pathetic bunch, for many youngsters it is uncool to vote. @velu listening? Of course some sections like migrant laborers are exempt from criticism, but see so many colleagues of mine (public, deemed, research institute in Bengaluru, Institute of Eminence tag by GOI  meaning govt doing so much for us and not just funding) enjoying the holiday and not bothering to vote despite being visited at their homes/hostels by officials, reminded multiple times by 50 yo aunties doing the thankless job going place to place under the hot sun. Don't vote, don't complain. In fact I'll go one step further, those who don't vote deserve some sort of punishment. At least those working in govt institutes or studying in govt colleges...easier to track. We can build on that later.

I think poor/rural folks do a much better job during election dates, for many it is like a festival. Our maid used to wear new dress and then go to the booth proudly, happily...that day they are on the same level as every other Indian irrespective of socio-economic status.

Yes, this is good work from guys organzing it. We need more peole in India participating in elections. More young people need to be encouraged. Its encouraging signs to see the rural folks participating, only if the educated folks understand the importance too across all over the country.

MI goes to Biden - 253 now, all left to NV and AZ

Looks like it’s over for Trump... he can try delay the verdict but eventually he’ll going out of White House.

The country is divided at the middle between 2 extremes.

Its all about AZ, NV and PA.  And plenty of Republican nutters there.

But its starting to look all Biden....

Point is, "flipping" NV seems to be a lot more realistic than some of the others.

If you were in the Trump campaign, you'd hope that you can hold on to Georgia and NC, and you'd deploy every trick in the book to attack PA and NV.  According to NYT it may take a week to get anywhere close to full counting in PA and NV.  More time means more chances for Trumpys to pull tricks.  Both those states are Republican controlled right?  That's now "Dubya" beat Gore in Florida (2000 election), thanks to Republican officials at the local level.

Biden camp is confident because most of pop in NV is in one county (Clark) / Las Vegas  where 73% of NV pop lives. This county is reporting 84% complete in counting, so there will be more votes to Biden, Difficult to flip NV for Trump.

Also Indian news channels do not do any better job either, no properm map work, voting procedures,  who is winning where etc. With all the bias which US News channels show, they are way ahead in times in election work. and also the running parties are way ahead in transparency even after being corrupt than India.

Indian news channels only for meme/gif content, no other use really. I don't even have most of the news channels, only 1-2 since they were part of the D2H plan I subscribed to. Get the funny stuff on twitter, YouTube channels.

Though I dislike NDTV, they used to do a better job at covering elections, of course biased but people like Prannoy Roy, Dorab Sopariwala were pioneers from DD days.  Anyway these days we have so many choices....10 years back we relied more on TV channels during election season.

Best is newspaper (and TOI doesn't fall in that category), whether India or USA. Even left leaning ones in my case since my supplier has limited variety (and me never buying TOI)...

funny thing, CNN hasn’t called AZ yet, but Foxy has and it shows 264 for Sloppy Joe. So, it all comes down to NV’s 6 votes which we will know only tomorrow. Meanwhile, the legal challenge Fooliani is blabbering about is some childish excuse in PA where Republicans are complaining about not having observed opening of ballots as they were 100 ft away with binoculars. It looks desperate now, I don’t think Trump the businessman gives up easily.

Not directly familiar with demographics in NV, and given the small margin - 8000 votes, with a big chunk still pending, I'm not as confident as some.  There's no rule that says that all mail-in ballots in every state are going to favor Dems with a 8:2 advantage.

I mean, its starting to look like NV won't matter, but again, 2016 has scarred me into deep skepticism on polls and projections.

Yeah but there has to be a proper medium for the world and especially Indian public to watch live updates and action and news does the best job for that. India needs to up its game then if locals are also tried of watching news coverage. I mean just US elections or UK elections, they are just watchable on tv. You get proper updates.

Like you mentioned about Indian channels being meme worthy, someone has to fill in the shoes and fix this issue.
